Tone arm counter weight
I use J.A Mitchell TecnoWeight on my RP6. I have used the same weight on 2 of my previous TTs. Can’t go wrong with it.
Whats playing on your system today?
@uberwaltz a bright cart does bring out good resolution on that table. Of course Nott is a better table/arm combo.@jafant I'm sure as the vinyl version (original pressing on Verve) is outstanding.

Nice table/cart combo you got there. How does it compare to your main TT (Nottingham)? I did audition that table but it sounded very laid back to me, albeit I auditioned the Jr.

What cartridge Uber? I’m listening to Buddy Rich (Walkman Jazz, Verve Label, Dolby B) on the 1000ZXL. What tapes are you  planning on playing?
Whats playing on your system today?
Uberwaltz, you're right there are a lot of good sounding tapes and you seem to have quite a few of them, but among the ones I own there are very few, I should have stated that :-). I have to admit tape and vinyl get same play time in my house :-).
Whats playing on your system today?
Stan Getz - Bossa Nova Years (Verve cassette tape), Dolby B. This is one of the very few tapes that was mastered well. Good dynamics and surprisingly good soundstage.
Ortofon Cadenza Range loading range
IME the phono stage plays a role in the loading too. I have a Quintet Black (same internal impedance as the Cadenza line), I tried loading the cart with 50 and 120 Ohms but that dampened the cart. a bit too much. The best I resolution I heard was ...
Your Forever Pieces? What and Why?
Tandberg 3014A x 2 , Tandberg TD20A SE and Nakamichi 1000ZXL  and my heavily modified EAR 834p phono stage. These four pieces are irreplaceable for me and they've been part of my system for the past 5 yrs.
Reel to reel deck directly to power amp ?
The other thing to keep in mind is the impedance match between the RtR output and Power amp input.
Which Nakamichi to choose?
@blueranger I could never warm up to Dragon's sound. It just didn't project the soundstage right.  I sold the Dragon but kept the ZX-7 for a long time until I came upon the 1000zxl.
Which Nakamichi to choose?
@blueranger Which Tandberg did you have back then? I’m listening to a recording of Harry James Still Harry... (sheffield labs Direct to Disk vinyl) on a Sony Metal ES tape, sounds fabulous.Nevermind on the Tandberg model, it's 3014A.
Which Nakamichi to choose?
@mickeyblu79 if CD-1 and DR-2 are the only choices you have then I recommend the CD-1 because CD-1 has manual PB head azimuth adjustment (ala CR-7). Personally I'm not a fan of  Nakamichi decks except for the 1000zxl. I've owned Dragon, ZX-7 and C...
Reel to Reel Tape
I know, I have 4 cassette (2 x Tandberg 3014A, 1 x Tandberg 911 and a Nak 1000zxl) decks and 2 RtRs (Both Tandberg TD20A SEHigh speed, one is a 2 Trk and the other 4Trk)
Cassette Deck Repair
Willy usually doesn't service non Nakamichi. You could check with him but I really doubt.
Cassette Deck Repair
Call Norman @ Sertech Electronics in San Jose. I've had a few cassette decks refurbished by him. He's good.
