Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927? Pani, Which version of "Nantais Lenco" do you own? I used to own one, too, and I used to follow Jean's meanderings on various websites. He was or is constantly upgrading his ideas on how to improve the base table, so his work has a temporal qual...
Who Is An Expert On Acutex Cartridges? Hi Timeltel, Nice to hear from you. In all prior experience with the LPM320STRIII, I had it mounted in its headshell adaptor/coil housing, rather than in the Saturn V, but in a lightweight headshell, probably carbon fiber type. In a fit of stupi...
Who Is An Expert On Acutex Cartridges? I dredged up this thread, because I am once again listening to an LPM320STRIII, this time in Acutex's optional "Saturn V" headshell, which really is the lightest possible headshell, running it in my Lenco in a DV505 tonearm. I had never tried the...
Solid State Phono Stages Seems like you will have to buy about a half dozen phono stages in order to appease the crowd, and then listen to them in your system in order to make your own decision. I am being only half facetious. Sometimes you really do have to buy several d...
Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927? We agree, Raul. That is what I was trying to say. There is basically "nothing new under the sun" when it comes to turntables, although our ideas about what constitutes optimal design and construction have evolved or become more sophisticated over...
Tone arm plug in RCA cable? Pindac, You wrote, "If the OP wants to replace the Cable used for the PIB - 1, the method when used will add one more set of connections and disruption in the signal path." I beg to differ. He is already using the box, so changing the wires betw...
Tone arm plug in RCA cable? Yes, but what I and others are saying is he is better off getting rid of the box entirely. Just go DIN at the arm base to RCA at the phono stage, which can very easily be achieved and would cost no more than buying RCA to RCA conventional interco...
Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927? Pani, Can you try to put into words what you heard from the 927 that was so superior to any of the other TTs with which you compared it? You seem at one go to be saying that the 927 "beat" the Technics and a Lenco but that those are turntables yo...
Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927? If my post makes no "sense", read it again. Or if you want to query me, please ask a specific question about my post; I will be happy to try to respond. Now you ask me what do I think is the "perfect" TT, which was not the central subject of my p...
Tone arm plug in RCA cable? Talk to AntiCables. They can make any cable with any plug you want even assuming the OP has a miniDIN, whatever that is. It is always beneficial to reduce the number of physical connections in the signal path, noise or no noise.
Koetsu Urushi stylus shape Thanks to all.
Tone arm plug in RCA cable? What they’re trying to tell you is you don’t need the bleeding box at all. The 5-pin plug that you shove into the base of your tonearm is called a DIN plug. You can buy a single pair of cables with a DIN plug at one end, terminating both channels....
Why will no other turntable beat the EMT 927? When does a turntable, tonearm, or cartridge cross the time line between "modern" and "vintage"? Mijostyn’s beloved Cosmos turntable is basically the same as a Star Sapphire sold by SOTA in the late 1980s, and by his own admission, SOTA copied the...
Please Help T3F problems Seems like one of those guys on the Lenco thread(s) actually fixes Rabco tonearms for other owners. That's where I would start, if you don't get any DIY hints from other reading.
Please Help T3F problems I googled "Rabco tonearm owners group" and found this group on Lenco Heaven: https://www.lencoheaven.net/forum/index.php?topic=18696.0 Those Lenco guys are very helpful. There are more such sites, if you care to google the topic I put in quotat... |
