Getting him in my ARC PH3se phono pre The directly above post should have gone to my other post. Please disregard
Tweaking the new Grado Timbre Sonata 3 Accidentally posted this in my Hum thread but it should have been posted here:Ok. Update. It’s not the TT, cart, stand, motor, and it’s not the phono preamp (since I changed phono pre and it still did it).i just hooked up a different TT with a dif...
Getting him in my ARC PH3se phono pre Ok. Update. It’s not the TT, cart, stand, motor, and it’s not the phono preamp (since I changed phono pre and it still did it).i just hooked up a different TT with a different cart set on the concrete floor, and ran it to the same preamp / amp and...
What the heck did I do Jjssi can’t tell if your being serious or not.
What the heck did I do All is good. It just started working again. I have no idea why. To answer some quesrions i’ve been trying to figure out why I’ve been having woofer pumping (Subsonic stuff) with cartridges that should work with the arm. I’ve checked the platter, i...
Sub Sonics and woofer pumping Ok. So it’s got something to do with the cart and the tone arm. Which is weird since VPI suggests the cart. I have a record that has a bump in the vinyl, the pumping corresponds with the bump. Weirdly the right channel is pumping more than the re...
Sub Sonics and woofer pumping It happens with every record to one degree or another. On the quite passages (lead in groove, etc). That’s why I don’t think it’s a resonant thing. If there is no music how could resonance contribute that much to the pumping. I suppose the lead i...
Sub Sonics and woofer pumping So I’m noticing that on the lead in grooves where there is no sound yet but the record is playing my woofer appears to “pump” exactly once on every revolution. Also the pumping is more pronounced at the beginning of the record vs the end. Could ha...
500 albums in a basement flood--worth saving? Tt1man,I live in Lafayette LA, so I feel for ya brotha. We barely dodged that evil thing. I don’t have advice for your records, but I hope the rest of your life gets put back together soon.
Tweaking the new Grado Timbre Sonata 3 Mijo, I got the low output 1mv. The Nagaoka was 2.5mv and it was more than plenty, almost too much, so I went with the low output Grado. Works great from a volume aspect.Frogman,I will wait. It seems the prudent advice.
Tweaking the new Grado Timbre Sonata 3 Not sure how I can adjust this. The unit is fixed at 47k. There are no toggles on the unit to adjust. It does come with some resistors to attach to the rca connector and ground, then you have to solder them in. But that appears to be for MC carts....
Tweaking the new Grado Timbre Sonata 3 Well that is certainly what Grado recommends
Tweaking the new Grado Timbre Sonata 3 I have a kit from DB that is rca plugs with different loading values, I think up to 200 or 800 ohms, but it’s meant for MC carts, not MM. Would these even be worth a try?
Getting him in my ARC PH3se phono pre Ok guys. I’ve been sheltered up for the last day due to Laura - I’m about an hour and a half away Lake Charles. I’m very lucky after the last week, puts my problems of humming in perspective for sure. I will look into the latest suggestions once I...
Getting him in my ARC PH3se phono pre Not sure it’s the cartridge honestly. The hum does not increase or decrease when you move the arm towards the spindle. It hums even with the the arm just sitting In the cradle and the motor isn’t even turned on. In fact the hum is constant and w... |
