Turned back into a music lover
Being thrilled by audio and loving music are mutually exclusive?? 🤔
Best progressive rock album side
@bdp24 - I was a huge fan of Procol Harum right up until 'Grand Hotel'. My favorite P.H. album was 'Home', and my opinion is quite different from your's on that matter, as I don't think they ever sounded like 'just another English blues-based band...
Albums you do not get...a plea for help and understanding
@bancsee - Yuppers!! That's the tour I saw them on, in Philadelphia, when they did that....

@curtdr - If you can find it, see if you can hear a live version of 'Dark Side Of the Moon'  from the 'Meddle' tour, well before the album came out, and it was called 'Eclipse: A Piece For Assorted Lunatics' - quite different from what was eventua...

@bdp24 - Sure did!! Awesome piece of music. Used to know this guy who would play the entire thing on a saloon piano at a brewpub.....
Does remote control degrade the sound of tube preamps?
I've got a Herron Audio tube preamp with a remote (the smallest remote I've ever seen!), and I don't think Keith Herron would put something in his gear that would cause any noticeable sound degradation. I definitely need a remote as the source doe...

@larshepping - Considering how many millions of copies 'Brothers In Arms' sold, I would say the answer to your last question is a distinct 'No'.  I'm 70 and I've always liked to try to keep up with contemporary music. Some I like, some I don't, j...
Susvara pre-amp and amp combination
For my own Susvara use, I use an MSB Analog DAC which has a volume control, and an Eddie Current Studio B headphone amp, which also has a volume control but no remote, which the MSB does have. With the right tubes, Susvara sounds awesome through t...
Anybody watch Steve Huff audio on the Tube?
Anytime somebody accuses one of these people of 'payola' or some such, I just say 'prove it'. I've got a lot more reason to believe somebody who is putting it out there on his YouTube channel than 'some guy on the internet' spouting off anonymous...
Anybody watch Steve Huff audio on the Tube?
I enjoy his audio YouTube stuff; I doubt I'd have any use for his paranormal channel either....
New In 2022
@bdp24 - Yeah, Flamin' Groovies were great; their earlier stuff like Teenage Head, with their original singer the late, great Roy Loney is excellent as well... Sounds like you're a 'pub-rock' fan....

Streaming vs Physical Media
@bkeske  - I've had that for decades, but it's from the Warfield. That's a painting of the Warfield from stage-view on the cover....  If you check the credits in the booklet, it says it was MIXED at Club Front, but this was recorded at the Warfiel...

@jasonbourne52 + 1 , though 'Days of 49' on 'Self-Portrait' was pretty good. Still, not a very good percentage! Loved 'We're Only In It For the Money', but tried and failed with 'Lumpy Gravy'.
