JBL's Marketing Blunder..
I didn't find anything 'airheady' about the ad. Just because somebody is not an audiophile does not make them an 'airhead' or 'clueless' - the ad is not aimed at audiophiles!  And while I enjoy Audioholics and his channel, I don't always agree wi...
List Of Small Company Tube Amps
Why wouldn't DecWare count anymore? Among headphone tube amps, a few excellent ones are made by: Eddie Current DNA (Donald North Audio)
Do different speaker stands can really make a big sound improvement?
Absolutely they can; some stands are necessary for some standmount speakers to sound their best. I had those kinds of stands for Harbeths, but I sold both Harbeths and their stands as they were not giving me the kind of sound I prefer....

@sokogear - I've got a Clearaudio Charisma II MM cartridge; it's a $2K cart and it sounds awesome; my guess is it sounds better than a lot of MC carts, not just the 'worst' ones.
Your Best Friend Forever
I like any art where my experience is a bit different each time (after all, I'M a bit different each time); this goes for books, movies, television, and music for sure. I'd put most of what I have in all of these into that category.
How does the Denafrips Artemis HPA compare to other amps?
... so is parting ways with their long-time distributors very recently, and some confusion about all the various versions they've got of each model; high quality gear for sure, I'd be a bit wary of Denafrips for the time being....

A high-res file is going through a DAC; a vinyl LP is going through a cartridge, a turntable, and a phono preamp. I don't know how those are going to sound the same.
Borresen X3 vs Harbeth 40.2 -- my impressions
@kennymacc - Makes one curious as to how much or how little advertising Borresen does with Stereophile.
Comparison of two High Quality Steely Dan Aja records....
I agree, it's the best sounding 'Aja' I've ever heard, and I've got an original AB-1266 from when it was first released in the 70's. As for reasons, I'd say the main one is the 45 RPM. Vinyl is clear to begin with; even black vinyl is colored blac...
Is AI the future of product & tech support?
I've been seeing AI-generated chat on corporate websites for quite a while, I believe.  If it's more responsive and accurate than some human product and tech support, I like it....

John Mayall has passed away
My favorite Eric Clapton guiltar playing was on 'John Mayall and the Blues Breakers with Eric Clapton', aka 'the Beano album'. He sure ushered in a lot of British blues greats....
Relaxed/Analog sounding DAC for under $10k (used or new)
If you're looking for an analog-sounding type of DAC, Chord may not be the best fit for you. They are excellent DAC's, for sure, but not many will accuse them of having a relaxed, analog type of sound. I've had a Hugo II and I've had a DAVE, with ...
If Steely Dan had a different vocalist
@thelonious527 - His point was that if Steely Dan had a different singer, they might sound like this band Monkey House he's talking about. When I first saw the headline, I thought the same as you, though....
Relaxed/Analog sounding DAC for under $10k (used or new)
I've had a Holo Audio May KTE DAC for the past 4 years or so, and I am very happy with its performance; that was under $10K, complete with separate power supply.
