High quality recordings any genre
@normb - I've got the Steely Dan 'Aja' UHQR, and yes, if it's an album you're a fan of and you want to hear it the best you will be able to outside of a reel-to-reel, and you don't mind paying $150 to do so, I and many others would say 'Yes, it's ...
Going from MM to MC
@lewm - agreed about MM cartridges; I've got a Clearaudio Charisma cart which is a $2000 MM and sounds perfect for my system; totally rocks....
Do Poor Quality Modern Pressings Provide Any Value?
Totally agree with you, @j-wall - I think I may have heard about GZ on one of the VMP podcasts for the Miles Davis set; there were 4 of them, and I think they discussed this on either the 2nd or 3rd one.
Do Poor Quality Modern Pressings Provide Any Value?
Hi @j-wall  - I wish I could find that article or video where the fellow from Vinyl Me Please addressed the concerns about GZ pressing, and how GZ did such an awesome job on the Miles set and some others from VMP. But he's the one that mentioned t...
Do Poor Quality Modern Pressings Provide Any Value?
I saw some discussion of that, and it seems that a lot of poorly recorded source material is also pressed at GZ as well. Garbage in, garbage out, I suppose.

GZ pressed the VMP Miles Davis - The Electric Years box set. These are pristine sounding recordings - read other reviews of this set; most everybody considers these to be at least as good, if not better, than the MoFi ones....

Another great one to check out for vinyl is Vinyl Me Please - they have some really awesome exclusive content, like this big box set of Miles Davis-The Electric Years, a beautiful package which has remastered versions of his studio albums from 'In...
Grateful Dead Dave's Pick's Volume 48 ......time to put a fork in this !
@stuartk - ah yes, Donna; she could be very good, like on 'Sunrise', but I've always got my finger on the volume button when a version of 'Playing In The Band' starts up that she's on; before she joined, I never thought, 'what that song needs is s...

Try audiophile websites like Elusive Disc or Acoustic Sounds; there are a number of these and they specialize in great sounding, well-mastered recordings.
"Hardly Used / Less than 100 Hours / Took out for pics only"????
@secretguy + 1 🤣
"Hardly Used / Less than 100 Hours / Took out for pics only"????
Some people, after their purchases, might decide that they'd really rather have the money for something else, but it can't be returned. Hence, they'd sell without having really used the item to any extent.
Dusty Street has passed away
I remember Dusty from when she was on KSAN in San Francisco.... RIP.
Grateful Dead Dave's Pick's Volume 48 ......time to put a fork in this !
@mahler123 - The reason why people who like the Grateful Dead have multiple versions of so much is that like jazz, there is a great deal of improvisation; some of it is entirely improvisation. Some are very similar, though ever identical, from nig...
Bose 901 Series V Questions
Actually, somebody in my college dorm had a pair of 901's that he'd placed facing backwards, firing the front against a wall. This was around 1972, so I can't remember much about them besides that!
Grateful Dead Dave's Pick's Volume 48 ......time to put a fork in this !
From Wikipedia: Dick's Picks Volume 3 is the third live album in the Dick's Picks series by the Grateful Dead. It was recorded on May 22, 1977, at the Sportatorium in Pembroke Pines, Florida. It was released in November 1995 on Grateful Dead Reco...
