Bands/artists you never got to see live in their heyday, but would've liked to. @shtinkydog - Heya! I don't think we'll see a Banshees reformation, as Siouxsie dumped Budgie a long time ago now, and even had songs dissing him on 'Mantaray'. How long ago was that 'Evening with Siouxsie'? I'd like to see her and Severin get bac...
That Other Audiophile Website How does metal retain the smell of cigarette smoke? It's not like it's fabric that will absorb it.
Portable Player Recommendation @ghdprentice - I'm considering getting a DAP as well; what are some others you would consider in the same bracket as the SP2000? And do any of these stream as well?
Bands/artists you never got to see live in their heyday, but would've liked to. @schubert is funny - he loves 'Arty' Shaw so much and doesn't even know how to spell his name. At least he's an entertaining troll.
Bands/artists you never got to see live in their heyday, but would've liked to. @shtinkydog - I suppose you got to see Siouxsie on her solo tour and with the Creatures? I loved that band - I was fortunate enough to see Siouxsie and the Banshees about 10 times over the years in the SF Bay Area...
Ridiculous assertions that someone is being ripped off or conned I pretty much agree with Tommy. I do not like somebody else telling me whether or not I actually like something, and if I like something they don't, or vice-versa, they'll say I'm being 'scammed'. Fortunately, almost nobody ever says that to me! 😀
The truth about why modern music is so awful. @schubert - better for YOU, Jack! Don't presume to tell others what you consider 'garbage' - I doubt anybody really cares. Bach deserves better for a supporter.
Would your familiarity with the music played effect your test performance? Totally agree, though there is also a lot of newer music that I'm just as familiar with. But yeah, familiarity with the music will give you clues as to what to listen for....
Adding a Herron VTSP 3A/360 Preamplifier to the system. @vinylvalet - when I ordered mine from Keith, he asked me whether I wanted a faceplate that said 'Reference' or one that said '360' (preamp identical, just different text on the faceplate); I went with '360' - it still says 'Reference' when it boo...
Fritz Carrera BE vs. Harbeth 30.1 One thing about the Fritz speakers - they took a LONG time to break-in, but they finally got there and sound beautiful and they ROCK! I'd say they are more 'rock and roll' speakers than Harbeths are.... I also had to adjust my seating distance so ...
Fritz Carrera BE vs. Harbeth 30.1 Interesting comparisons! I've got a pair of Fritz Carrerra BE's and Harbeth Super SL-5; right now the Fritz's are what I'm using in my 2-channel system. I don't know whether I'm going to keep or sell the Harbeths....
The Good Stuff There are simply two kinds of music - one that a particular person likes and one that that particular person does not like. I like a lot of rock and pop, and I could list hundreds of examples of GREAT music, but that list would be too long. I don'...
What were the radio stations of your youth that helped you on your music/audio journey? WHFS - Bethesda, MDWCMF - Rochester, NYKOME (from '74 - '75 - all prog rock, all the time) - San Jose
Looking for a headphone amplifier recommendation for Sennheiser HD 800 S headphones I just recently upgraded my system and sold my Quicksilver headphone amp - I think it is fantastic value for the money - super well-made and heavy, and sounds creamy-smooth with the right tube compliment and headphones like the Utopia... I do not ...
Rock musicians with musical education. If Schubert don't like it, it's garbage, end of story. Better start throwing out my music collection.... |
