Back to vinyl need phono stage help!
I would also recommend that you take a look at (listen to) the JC3 Jr. It is very flexible in terms of gain and loading and has a mute switch which can be useful. I’ve found the sound to be very clean and well-balanced with a Hana ML and Ortofon Q...
Uneven soundstage help, please.
m669326,I apologize if I missed it, but what have you been listening to when you have been trying to balance the left/right image in your system?  Has it been pink noise (or some sort of test signal) or specific music tracks?
Stereo Times list of the " 2020 MOST WANTED COMPONENTS"
Infection wrote:"@akg_ca that’s the point, it’s their most wanted & it’s not all "uber expensive ".What are you bitter about? It’s just an article on some of the gear that they’ve enjoyed...so what? Do you just want to have a dig at people who...
Preamp choices:Short list
I would second the recommendation of the PS Audio BHK Signature preamp.  There is a link on this page for a video of Bascom H. King talking about balanced audio.  https://www.psaudio.com/bhk-preamplifier/
Does Age Matter?
I'm 71 and have 3 systems, den, living room, bedroom.  All have both digital and analog components.  In the 3 systems, there are 7 working turntables.  I love vinyl.  But what I really love is music.  So most of my listening is digital (streaming ...
PS Audio BHK 250 - Is it still a good amp?
I agree there was a problem.  But, to the best of my recollection, whether or not the problem lay with that pair of LRS speakers was not investigated.  The problem was cured when they were replaced, however, with a pair of 17i's, which technologic...
PS Audio BHK 250 - Is it still a good amp?
I remember that thread well and puzzled about it. I’ve never had any problem in driving either the 1.7i or 3.7i with the BHK Signature 250 and wondered to myself if 1. the LRS can be that difficult a load or 2. if there was a problem with the spea...
PS Audio BHK 250 - Is it still a good amp?
I can tell you that the BHK Signature 250 will drive both the Magneplanar 1.7i’s and 3.7i’s to some pretty loud levels with no problems. Both are described by Magnepan as 4 Ohm speakers. I have used the 250 in systems with both. I’m not sure what ...
PS Audio BHK 250 - Is it still a good amp?
I haven't seen that with any of the BHK stuff.  I suspect that since PS Audio is now selling direct only price stability is going to be the norm.  I would agree that the 250 can be an end game amp for many, especially if you don't need the grunt t...
PS Audio BHK 250 - Is it still a good amp?
I have the BHK Signature 250 driving a pair of Magnepan 1.7i's and I think it sounds really, really good.  It replaced a Bryston 4B SST2 and there is no comparison for me.  I, and a friend whose ears I very much trust, both preferred the BHK.  It ...
Integrated Tube Amps with Subwoofer out?
The Parasound HINT has a subwoofer out.Sorry - didn't see the "tube" qualifier.
Audio Research or Macintosh?
I've had a number of ARC amps and preamps and never have had a problem with any of them.  Mac looks cooler, ARC sounds better (to me).

Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
Have you tried the periphery ring yet?
Woofer pumping possibly due to tube amp when playing vinyl
@last_lemming, I'm having a difficult time in reconciling the findings with the EMI hypothesis.  That the pumping only occurs with a turntable, is worst at the periphery of the record, and is reduced by 30% when the preamp is put into mono mode al...
