Good tube preamp w/ HT bypass
I just checked the schematics for the SF Line series and the HT bypass is a complete bypass: No active circuitry except for switching.Kal
Some CD's I just Ordered...Any Thoughts?
The Mussorgsky is better on the newer SACD release.Kal
Need Help with Hum
If the components which were once on the same line are now on separate lines, there are at least two issues which might contribute to the problem you have. First, the separate lines, due to line length/configuration, might have slightly different ...
Revel Salons - Do they really sound like this?
Actually, only individual parameters of "accuracy in speakers can be measured" with instruments. What I was hoping was that you might have measurements for the Revels that would show significant deviation from a flat response. As for time-coherenc...
Revel Salons - Do they really sound like this?
"The truth is, if you're looking for accuracy, which is not subjective, the Revel Salons fail."On what non-subjective basis?
Revel Salons - Do they really sound like this?
My objection is to the guys who dismiss any of these better speakers as garbage. None of them are. While I may have a preference for the Revels and reasons for that preference, I would not denigrate any of the other suggestions as sounding like a ...

Good tube preamp w/ HT bypass

Two different brand amp in the same setup 5.1?
It may be more important to match the center and L/R than to match the center with the surrounds.Kal
Bi-amping with no pre-outs
Not for this. He wants to bi-amp his NHTs and there's no way to get 2 stereo outs for the woofers (not the subwoofer) from a mono source. The only solution I can think of is to go to an auto/stereo shop and get a pair of speaker-to-line level adapt...
Bi-amping with no pre-outs
You cannot split the mono out into stereo.

Good tube preamp w/ HT bypass
I thought I posted this yesterday but I'll try again:The SF Line series has dual paralleled outputs for SE and for BAL. How about feeding the HT L/R outs to one on the OUTS on the SF? As long as the HT pre/pro is off, it should not load the SF run...
