To venture back into vinyl or not,...that is the question.
I was in the same boat.  Several years ago I sold off my AR-ES1 with a Premier MMT arm and Grado Signature 8 cartridge.  Earlier this year picked up an Audio Techica LP-120XUSB and put a VM95SH on it.....it sounds amazing, and it sounds better tha...
Charging A Fee To Demo An Amplifier In A Brick & Mortar Store
Seems lame to me.
External DAC?
If you don’t need volume control or MQA try a Topping E30. There are a lot of good DACs out there you don’t need to spend a fortune for great sound. I added a Topping E30 to the digital output of my 20 year old Denon DCM-440. I wasn’t sure what t...
Amps for Focal Maestros
I.e., want to buy my last set of amps.   Have you looked into the Convergent amps?  Incredible bass drive, along with incredible everything else.
Never Owned a Tube Amp and Want Advice
Selecting tubes and tube amps to suit your needs is very subjective, plus there are a bunch of variables that are unique to each situation. Pick a well regarded amp circuit as a starting point, and get your feet wet...you can taylor the types and ...
Which Preamp.
I think you'd be remiss if you didn't give the Convergent preamp a good long listen....it's the real deal.

See if this link takes you to an article about bi-wiring and bi-amping, and scroll down to the last diagram pic near their conclusion that illustrates the difference between vertical and horizontal bi-amping...might help you visualize.https://www....
Help? Bi-Amping With A Pair of Roksan KA-1 Amplifiers
I think I would call Roksan back, and ask to speak to a technician about bi-amping with their amps....sounds like you got someone who obviously didn’t know. You could also stop and visit with a dealer to get some input.Since you have the two amps ...
Best way to measure an Amp's power capability
Measurements generally give very few useful insights about how something sounds. Unless there’s some specific requirement that most amps can’t handle, I pay little to no attention to measurements because it’s too easy to set the measurements up to...
For anyone who moved from tubes to solid state — a question
I switched back to solid state because it produced better clarity. That’s important if you like large symphonic works with lots of subtle detail. Tubes smeared the detail It’s worth pointing out that the tubes "you" were using smeared the detail,...
Are all Audiophiles masocists?
You still have woodworking, photography, and boating to try! Lots of rabbit holes to go down with all of those! :-D
Turned Off My Subwoofer ... And My Speakers Sound Great
The only way I like my sub is at the lowest frequency crossover setting, and the gained turned down so that I rarely even know it’s on.  I also much prefer the high level input from the amp vs the line input from the pre.
It’s a pleasure.
here here!!or is it hear hear??? :) Or is it beer here? ;-)
nobsound el34 8 watt rms with vienna acoustics bach grand speakers 4ohm 90 db ?nobsound
I used the Nobsound 6.8w with 89db, 4 ohm speakers as an interim fix for a while. It sounded surprisingly good, but didn’t have bottom end bigger amps have. It would play loud enough to annoy my wife, but could run out of steam if pushed hard. for...
For anyone who moved from tubes to solid state — a question
It seems like every time I hear the term "tube sound" as it relates to solid state, it only addresses a perceived softer tonal balance, but misses the "view" into the recording studio that I get from tubes, so it ends up kinda dull.  Inversely, th...
