Speaker and amp pairing
High sensitivity speakers including big horns as I use always have more life like dynamics, immediacy and realism to me.
To horn or not to horn
In my previous post on this thread I called my Bill Fitzmaurice  designed bass horns 25Hz 1/8 wave corner horns.  They are instead 25Hz 1/4 wave horns.  Just a brain fart I suppose.  I wish we could edit posts on this forum.
How long do good speakers last?
In 1972 my wife and I bought a pair of Bose 901, Series 1.  That was before Bose started using foam surrounds. They still play in our son's basement party room almost fifty years later.
Possibly Dumb Question re:Battery as a power supply

Possibly Dumb Question re:Battery as a power supply
Thanks for the responses.  I hadn't considered that a fully charged 12V battery can provide 13.5 volts.  Perhaps a bit more research is needed.  I sure wouldn't want to mess up my first new turntable since I bought my VPI HW19 thirty or so years a...
Possibly Dumb Question re:Battery as a power supply
I just thought that I have a small 12V 1.25Amp Battery Tender Plus charger I used to keep my motorcycle battery topped up during the heat of Georgia summers when I didn't ride much.  I could just hook it up when I wasn't listening.  That obviates ...
Adding a Turntable Mat
For the last thirty five years I've used my old VPI HW19 without a mat other than a few times I tried mats.  I prefer it naked.  I've already bought but haven't yet received a new Clearaudio Performance DC Wood tt.  I don't intend to use a mat either

Owning the speakers you dreamed of 20 years ago
When I was in my twenties I dreamed of owning a pair of Klipschorns.  When I was in my sixties I bought a pair of Klipschorns to use the bass bins as part of a DIY horn system I was putting together.  Needless to say I listened to them full range....
cassettes CAN sound better than vinyl.
leemurray, your numerous posts about cassettes have aroused my interest enough that I think I will dust off my Nakamichi ZX7, and give it a listen again.
If I could afford, I’d purchase 100% Oswald Mills Audio gear

New TT, Arm and MC Cartridge
