Koetsu cartridges. They must be something special.
The Kiseki Purpleheart is known as a musical cartridge and some consider it similar to a budget priced Koetsu.

And the biggest influence on sound quality is... Stepping on the cat’s tail. No matter how great the system, the room, or whatever, musical engagement goes out the window when self preservation from scratches and sharp teeth kick into high gea...
Koetsu cartridges. They must be something special.
Years ago many reviews indicated the most “musical” cartridge were the Koetsu stone with the Coralstone as one of the favorites.  The stone carts seemed unaffordable so I purchased the Rosewood Sig Platinum. I was bummed when it was announced the...
Vinyl playback - lack of bass?
Recordings: Analog versions differ vs Digital versions differ = apples and oranges
is McIntosh known for good dynamics?
@ghdprentice - dang, you’ve talked me into trying a WA5.  I’ll likely get the WA5-integrated as I’m also investigating tube sonics starting with flea watt amps on my 100db speakers.

The new dCS Varese DAC...it is so good that all others are now relegated to history??
This seems similar buying a car new or used. Once we buy the car, we usually don’t care about newer models coming out, but rather we are satisfied with the function and use of our purchase because it is doing “exactly” what we expected at the time...
Is this a new trend?
If you triggered and interest... then it can pop up all over. Once you notice it, then you start noticing them... @ghdprentice This could be true! Lately I’ve been marveling about the high sonic quality of bookshelf/monitors, often seeing the...
