Which is better, a world with MORE or LESS Blue Boxes?
Need to learn about Audio Research
Agree that tube pre + SS amp is a good “warm” direction to go from the Hegel H390. A GanFet amp, which is similar to a warm sounding SS, may be a good option. Krell K-300i integrated has “150Wpc into 8 ohms and 300Wpc into 4 ohms, with its iBias...
How remove odor from interconnect?
If you’re about to throw them away anyway, perhaps use a laundry bag and put through the washer.
SUT suggestions for Audio Note System
The Koetsu SUT is suppose to be compatible according to this review here Bob’s Devices are reasonable quality SUTs and EMIA makes excellent custom wound SUTs that matches your cart.
HumminGuru vs.Degritter
Nice thread- leaning towards the Degritter. Kirmuss does an excellent job of cleaning, but it has too many manual steps for my taste. The HG is bargain priced and effective, much better than home brewed options.  Vinyl enthusiasts are fortunate ...
Analogue front end. You want more weight, scale and dynamics.Where do you start upgrading?
Mass loaded turntables are known for their ample bass weight.  Better scale and dynamics are more a function of preamp/amp and/or speakers.  A cartridge can sound faster like the lightweight assembly in the MY SONIC LAB - Ultra Eminent Ex MC Cartr...
Rule of thumb for used digital componants?
Although much used gear is sold ~50-60%, it’s simply demand and supply, so there’s no “agreed” upon resale value standard.
Is a Rega P1 worth keeping?
For vinyl playback, one needs a turntable, tonearm, cartridge, and a phono preamplifier/stage. As one moves up the Rega turntable+tonearm line, it’s common to expect better sonic performance provided that the rest of the audio chain is transparen...
The Audio Science Review (ASR) approach to reviewing wines.
Measurements ≠ Subjectively Good Sound I suspect that those who believe measurements are everything are deceptively bias against costly “unaffordable” components. For some, it may be emotionally easier to digest a lie and talk oneself into believ...
Okay, that's it -- I'm done (unless I win the lottery)
Enjoyment is the ultimate goal - congratulations!
No love for Cube Audio speakers?
With past Covid supply problems and the inflation, less “hobby” money available. Might be a great time for buyers…if they had the money…
A life sentence!!!
….forced to keep one component in your current audio system for the rest of your life Interpreting as never parting with, it’s likely my Koetsu Corralstone D - perhaps the most musical cartridge but is now unobtainable.  Very fortunate to have ...
a rant
I too had high-end audio OCD obsession, but it’s subsiding as my audio chains gets established.  I do struggle which expensive noise reducing components to budget for: ether filter, Ethernet switch, Schnerzinger products, QSA…
Loudspeaker designer/manufacturer John DeVore shows reviewer Ken Micallef his system.
Hoping to someday acquire the 96db Devore O/96. I’m using a 100db Volti Rival for its efficiency and neutrality to check out low watt tube amps, and comparing between the musical O/96 vs Rival seems like great sonic fun
