To loom or not to loom? +1 it depends. Looms may create brand sonic consistency which may be lost when using multiple brands. OTOH I prefer to shop by cable types: analog interconnects, digital/ethernet, power cords, speaker cables.

Definitive Answer Re Japanese Luxman's I’ve also looked at buying less expensive Japanese voltage components to work in the USA, but came to the conclusion that I’d need a transformer which may degrade the sonics unless the manufacturer specifically has the voltage conversion feature b...
Looking for integrated solid state amp for daily usage Maybe a GanFET amp which has that midrange warmth. How about the Peachtree Carina GaN here
Replacement for Shindo Instead of chasing a used Shindo pre and amp, I’ll likely go the simpler route and get the Audio Note Meishu Tonmeister integrated amplifier which I heard several times at audio shows.
Recommendations for good WiFi speakers …either battery-powered or can be pre-charged I doubt you’ll find any that carries a self contained battery. Most would be required to be plugged into an outlet such as the KEF LS50. I heard the Cabasse Rialto at audio shows twice and many com...
Experience with adding super tweeter? I may someday try the Enigma Sopranino here. Very curious to see/hear if any improvements.

Are the Paradigm Founder Series really, really good speakers? @todd1010 If you like the sound but want more bottom end support, moving up to the 100F would be a good idea if the additional cost is worth it to “you”. Simpler and probably cheaper than adding subs.

Comparison of sonic qualities of some tonearms Assuming that tonearms have a “sonic signature” is not helpful. While cartridges sound different depending on its component construction, tonearms are vibration mitigation devices and are NOT designed to sound like anything. Usually one’s limitin...
Transparent Audio is anything but Transparent The OP seems bent for not getting a freebie at the manufacturers expense so that the OP can save money. That doesn’t seem like a victim but rather an opportunist.
MBL Owners: The "Why" Behind Our Choices and the Search for the Ultimate "Wow" Factor I have a main box speaker and a flea watt box speaker. But for the general living area I was leaning towards the the omnis MBL 120/126 and maybe MBL electronics as iirc MBL speakers require ample current. |
