Update on good Ethernet switch
Not sure if off topic, but I’m guessing many are interested in audiophile switches to reduce noise.   Fiber isolation has been favored by many to reduce noise, but I’m hesitant as I’m not fond of visual setup and some say that fiber may degrade s...
Update on good Ethernet switch
via email correspondence to Network Acoustics: I can confirm we are launching a new reference switch and timing-wise we are still on target for June and if you’d like to kept up to date I can add you to our newsletter.   In the meantime, i can...
the big one: how do you choose speakers? By what features, data?
Years ago when I auditioned the KEF LS50 I also demoed their R700 which to me sounded similar to the LS50 but with more extension. Perhaps a used R700, R900 or the newer models R7 and R9.  Maybe buy a used LS50 to see if that’s the direction you’d...

I like the idea of the Kuzma Safir arm +1 it's an end-game arm, nothing to upgrade to

Hard to go wrong with the much appraised $3.7 Mofi Sourcepoint 10 by the speaker guru Andrew Jones, but may have to wait for used ones to show up on the market.
Wharfedale Elysian 4 Incredible build quality and sound, but made in China.
I assumed that the "made in china" was a quality and/or a reliability issue (which fits high-end audio interests) vs a "political" one.   I too greatly dislike communism for the misery it brings.  I do understand that for some countries it may ha...
Audioquest source AC Hurricane vs FireBird
@lordmelton I'm in the same boat.  The Dragons PCs are reachable budgetwise, but the ICs and SC are not.  ICs I've settled on the newer Siltech Classic Legend.  SC I have used Tara but am contemplating what the next upgrade will be likely in silve...

@kennyc Your point of view is extremely « laissez faire » liberal. Allow me to defend myself. I am not a liberal but am realistic. I avoid bitching about stuff I have no control over - it does not do any good but make myself miserable, nor to I...
Update on good Ethernet switch
Bottom line, we don’t know what to measure and/or there’s a poor correlation to what we can measure and what we “subjectively” like to hear.  Measurements are no substitute for demoing to find what “you” like.  Our hearing acuity is much more comp...
Audioquest source AC Hurricane vs FireBird
I’m contemplating Audioquest Dragon and/or top line Voodoo Cables as my final PC upgrade.  Looking at the increased amount of silver between the speaker cables Firebird vs Dragon https://www.audioquest.com/resource/1278/AQ-US-Retail-Price-Book.pdf...
Power Cord choices
If you want to try silver, LAVRiCABLES GRAND 30 CORE SILVER MAINS seem to offer very high price/performance: https://www.lavricables.com/cables/grand-30-core-silver-mains-eu-us-power-cable/
Power Cord choices
The new RSX Benchmark power cord at $250 may be a great option. Roger Skoff, who developed then sold the highly regarded XLO cables company, has somewhat recently started RSX.  My impression is that this time around Roger is trying to give great p...
Why Do Cables Matter?
When putting together my first audio chain, my target was linear neutral so that I can better evaluate component upgrades Years of research for cables using reviews to create a hierarchy of price/performance got thrown out the window after this re...
Why Do Cables Matter?
We do not expect a "Guarantee".  We are will aware that the advised cable may not bring subjectively desirable results in our own systems.  But reporting the experience in actual use what they had before and after is very helpful, otherwise beyond...
Build a Faraday cage around your equipment.
For me it's a no starter - draping cloth around my equipment seems very unsightly and any possible increase in sonics would be minuscule in comparison.
