Cable differences -- power, interconnect, digital, and in what order?
@hilde45 For more powerful amps, some suggest direct connection to the wall vs through a power conditioner. Not sure it matters with lower power amps. A couple years ago, audio bacon did PC shootout: https://audiobacon.net/2019/03/22/15-audiop...
Integrating speakers into contemporary decor - can WAF ever be overcome?
I believe it’s a function of your wife’s understanding and flexibility, and how much whipped you....:) For myself, my audio chain is a major bucket list item so my wife allows me the freedom to meet my dream. I’d do likewise to try my utmost to f...
Synergistic Research SR30 Power Cables
The stretch to the Foundation series for it's sonic benefits seems worth it.  The Foundation is SR's high value line
Cable differences -- power, interconnect, digital, and in what order?
I researched this a couple of years ago and the somewhat rough general answer was: Power Speaker Interconnects Iconoclast has (power cables excluded): Speaker analog xlr analog rca digital
Help me choice Audioquest speaker cables
I compared AQ Firebird speaker cable combo with AQ William Tell (Silver) speaker combo ... Nice to know.  My next speaker cable change/upgrade will be from copper to silver like my interconnects, so I was debating between these same 2 cables mo...
Why Do Cables Matter?
Is the OP serious?  Does he not know that the internal conductors are chosen/built to a cost and performance targets while the external cables are at the option of the user?  That higher performing components with parts like better wiring also inc...
Experience with Luxman L-550 AXII
@jbhiller Just go for it. Continual searching may yield other options, but likely none better than the Lux at this point in time for your audio chain.  Chances are you'd enjoy and keep it awhile like many other have done.  If you later decide to ...
The damper, the tension wire and cantilever position
I believe that getting the stylus angle to the groove correct is paramount to good sound, but inconsistencies in manufacturing stylus to cantilever and cantilever to body(?) can cause subpar alignment.  So I'm going to use WAM Engineering to calcu...
My Final System Build in Words & Pictures
Your SoundLab Majestic 745 is a great sounding panel speaker, but I'm doubtful I can get a panel speaker passed my WAF.  I also have a Equitech to drop the noise floor.   Thanks for sharing
Streamer/dac …. Organic/euphonic sound signature
......set my ears off. Esp female vocal sibilance. @ficus12346 Is this the main reason you want a warm streamer DAC? Perhaps you should look at the other components further down your audio chain like electronics and speakers
I am just very happy with my system.
Yup, the old itch which can be hard on the wallet.
How rare is an audiophile
I could run a rough calculation based on a lot of very loose assumptions such as units active, but that’s a lot of work to come up with questionable ballpark number just to satisfy somebody else’s curiosity itch. Can some number below 1% be judged...
user poll on seperates vs integrated
To put it more plainly, would you likely get better overall results from a $5000 preamp and $5000 amp, or from a $10,000 integrated, given the likely quality/components used in equipment in those price ranges. @chrisryanhorner  You cannot comp...
Ethernet switches the good and bad
I'll probably go with the Networks Acoustics filter, cable, switch solution.  The SR switch and the SR Ethernet cable look interesting also - reports are multiple switches bring incremental improvements.
KEF final call
Thanks for the tip.  The R7 looks like a steal.  Maybe a home theater setup.
