Vandersteen Quatro CT
Good news CT.  Listened for a couple hours this morning.  Some 60's Miles and the new Dirty Projectors vinyl.  Even the non Carbon version sounds great!
Thinking About Upgrading The Tonearm On My Rega P5...
Hi SCM,I'm not sure that the V uses the 2000 arm as the V has been around longer than the 2000.  I suppose Jeff at Audiomods may change arm tubes without changing the series number?  At any rate, I wanted to pipe in here as I have a series V and h...
Recommend a SS amp for my new Vandersteen Quatro CT
Another poster mention Pass Labs.  I second that suggestion. I have been using an XA-30.5 for a couple years now with Quattro Woods (not CT).  It is a beautiful sounding combo.  I also use a Pass Labs preamp, XP-10.enjoy!
Vandersteen Quatro CT
I had a pair of Vandersteen 2ci's as my first pair of "hifi" speakers. Then went to some more accurate sounding kit speakers (North Creek) then some used Vandy 5's and then Legacy Focus SE.  I returned to Vandersteen Quatro woods when I had the op...
Anvil Turntables Alloy Convertible turntable with new magnetic footer
I think they are a really smart design and also clearly audibly effective under the turntable.  I have also ordered more to place under other components.

Thoughts on Vandersteen V2W Video Subwoofer
I use one to excellent effect on a 5.1 system with 1C mains, VCC-2 center and VSM-1 surrounds. Integrates perfect using an Odyssey Multeq XT chip on my A/V receiver.
Vandersteen Quatro CT
What do you experienced Vandy aficionados hear in the Quatro CT that is different than the Quatro Wood? Better imaging? Less grain?  What?
Vandersteen Quatro CT
Agreed nrenter.  I started this post with the typical fever of someone looking to get a new piece of gear.  I ended up finding a pair of almost new Quattro Wood (non-CT) in Ebony about 12 months ago.  I've been really enjoying them.  I really like...
Is New Vinyl Exempt from Loudness Wars?
Interesting question.  Limiting is used to make a recording sound loud and avoid distortion on digital recordings. Many modern LPs are cut from the same limited masters used for the digital release. But not all.
Vandersteen Quatro CT
Here's an update. Bought a pair of demo Quatro (not-CT) from a dealer in OH. They are getting settled in and already sound great. I'll use the Vandertones test files and my SPL meter to adjust the subs. Wonder if Vandersteen will offer an upgrade ...
Does anyone else have an "ANVIL Turntable"???
I have had the Anvil Convertible for 2 years. Jollypop red plinth and motor unit. Thing of beauty. I also have an alloy platform that Bruce designed for even more vibration control an mass. I use a Jelco 750D with a Zu-103R and a ZYX Yatra. I swap...
Theta Miles owners: Using preamp or direct?
I agree. The only reason to use a pre with the Miles is if you have other sources to switch. The Miles was a great CDP!
Vandersteen 5a Carbons
I believe Anthony Cordesman (Absolute Sound) uses a pair of 5 Carbons as one of his references.
Vandersteen Quatro CT
I moved to Ann Arbor in 2001. Overture did not carry Vandersteens then, I drove out to Royal Oak to listen to them (Audio Dimensions). I'll clarify the timelines with Overture if I ever have time to audition the Quatros! I'll report back!
