Replacing Lyra Kleos at end of its life need suggestions as to what next?
Very cool @radioheadokplayer. Please let us know what you think.  I have the Zephyr MIMC star mounted on a Morch DP-8 and enjoy its fidelity very much.  I'm sure you will love the Hyperion.
Replacing Lyra Kleos at end of its life need suggestions as to what next?
I would consider the Ortofon A90 or A95 if your phono pre can handle to lower output.  These will perform similar to the Kleos but with more energy and neutrality. The ZYZ cartridges are great but definitely a different house sound compared to Lyr...
Why do these Zyx Fuji and Airy 3 have such a dark sound?
You certainly have things all figured out.  Glad we could help you.  Hope you enjoy those blind test listening sessions!
Why do these Zyx Fuji and Airy 3 have such a dark sound?
Well said @thom_mackris .
Why do these Zyx Fuji and Airy 3 have such a dark sound?
OK. So after listening to several different tracks that you made available for downloading I'll make a couple points.  First, Mastodon rules!!! Second, I think that the Airy and Fuji are sounding pretty close to the way they should.  This is not "...

I enjoyed a ZYX R100 Yatra for several years. I know its not an R1000 but they share many characteristics. I intermittently  experienced what the OP describes as rolled off high end.  Look no farther than your tonearm.  I could not get it to soun...
Lyra Atlas experiences
@o_holter Several months ago, I took the plunge and acquired a lightly used Atlas. I noticed that the cantilever was off center when playing and at rest. Sounded fine but I sent it to Lyra for cleaning and adjustment.Back from Lyra it looked to be...
Seeking arm suggestions for a Grace F9R
Robbie,Thanks for the RS-9E.  Looks great and will mount it and the 9-F soon. I think it will work best on my Audiomods Series V.-Karl
Fidelity Research FR-64x
@mulveling Well I guess you have no excuse not to try the LH-8000.  I admit I was surprised too about my preference. It’s one of those things that was subtle but I kept going back to the Ortofon headshell and ultimately that’s where the RSP sounde...
Fidelity Research FR-64x
@mulveling I have tried three different headshells with my Koetsu RSP and FR-64S (copper). Yamamoto HS-4 (carbon), Yamamoto HS-6 (titanium) and Ortofon LH-8000.  Of the three, I like the Ortofon the best in my system.  It has the right balance of ...
What do you think of your Soundsmith Cartridge
I'm having a similar experience with the Zephyr MIMC as @fsonicsmith and @jbny.  I like its ultra-natural presentation and really low groove noise which speaks to P. L.'s design goals. But I was hoping for more given the proposed advantages of low...
Lyra Delos A truth teller or what?
I understand the urge to find the one perfect cartridge for your system.  Then you stop listening to the cartridge and enjoy the music.  If the Delos distracts you with its high frequency energy then it is probably not the right cart for you.  I h...
Cartridge alignment question/problem
It can be a sign of a bad mastering of a recording. If the spacing on the cutting lathe was too tight, the cut extends too close to the previous groove.  Just recently heard this on an Atlantic recording of Milt Jackson and John Coltrane. Always d...
Any of you experiment with optimal VTA for Benz Micro Cartridges
@prof. If you re-read the post from @artemus_5 from atma-sphere, you will see that the general rule about higher resistance settings sounding brighter is dependent on the phono-pre not the cartridge.  Of course there are many other factors that af...
Choice of Vandersteen models
FWIW, I had a pair of 5s and now a Quatro Wood (non-ct).  The Quartos sound better than I could ever get the 5s to sound.  But I'm sure this is also influenced by room and upstream components.
