Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
I think @almarg summed it up best in his post on 6-03-2016, referencing a post of his on another thread from 3-15-2016.As Al so eloquently put it: Can everyone agree on most or all of the following, and then perhaps this less than constructive dis...
I just went to put in a $4.00 add and now I have to give my whole financial history.....
There are other options, Audiogon is not a monopoly. I use US Audiomart and Audio Asylum Trader. The traffic isn't as heavy as here, but the stuff does sell, and I don't notice as many tire-kickers or lowballers either.

Drac, if you love dogs, here this will get you riled up. It makes $100K cables look pedestrian!Who loves their dogs??!! You don’t really love them unless the have a exquisite dog collars from “I Love Dogs Diamonds” . 3 models to choose from starti...

It is incorrect to use % in the assessment of the sound. +1. I always get a chuckle when I see someone trying to quantitate sound.
Phono cartridge Goldilocks
Two more to consider would be the ZYX UNIverse II and the Transfiguration Proteus. I don't think you could go wrong with either. My Sonic Labs is supposed to be very nice too, but I haven't heard any of them.
Researching Preamps
A  McIntosh C22 Vacuum Tube Preamplifier should be a good match with your Mac monoblocks.
Curious .. What is the compared price of your tt vs spkrs
I feel a better comparison would be turntable + speed controller + tonearm + cartridge + phono stage compared to the speakers + amplifier. If that were the case, my table/arm/cart, motor controller and phono stage ($13,140) would equal about 57...

JMc,Who are you quoting? Not me I think I don’t recall ever saying anyone specifically spent too much money. It’s completely up to them what they choose to buy obviously. The original quote about looking for rational was yours. The rest of the com...

mapman13,395 posts06-13-2016 10:31pm It’s called having a rational discussion. Sorry mapman, if you are looking for a rational discussion, you took a wrong turn somewhere. You’re lost, no rational here."You spent too much""No I didn’t""You spent t...

The forum is for intelligent advice!  Then why are you here pennsy? You've shown no ability to provide any advice. Spelling isn't your only problem, you struggle with grammar as well. Hopefully, English is not your first language. If it is, you...

^^^ It's Jim Carrey. Your ignorance is excused pennsy. No knowledge to be garnered on a cable thread, might as well add some levity. ;^)
I used to think passive preamps were superior to active preamps given right the setup, but
Which came first? The chicken or the egg?Is BK dismissing passives to promote his new active preamplifier?Or did he design his new preamplifier to be active due to his previous experiences with active/passives?
I used to think passive preamps were superior to active preamps given right the setup, but
Interesting that Bascom King points out a couple times that 'intellectually' wise he really wants to like the sound of passives better, and direct to amp better. It must be difficult from an engineering mindset to let oneself relax and actually ...

It seems you’re the one who gets off on a good tussle repeatedly trying to bait me. 😏 Now let me see, who cast out the bait? Who originally posted this toxic thread? I'm simply nibbling on your bait. I have to say that you are a Master Baiter. ...
Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
The only profit I’m hoping for is to steer some newbie audiophile away from these high priced high end cables, which are complete sham. @dracule1 , did you used to post on Audio Review forums decades ago under the moniker eyespy or mtrycrafts?...
