Why do so many sellers not show the back of components...???
My guess would be - laziness. Many folks just take a picture of the component as it sits in their system. They are too lazy to pull it out and take a full set of photos. Still not as bad as those that post ads with no photos at all.I wouldn’t say ...
Turntable hum
It sounds like it could be a ground loop hum. Is your TV hooked up to cable? If so, unplug the incoming cable line from the TV and see if the hum goes away. If it does, than you have a ground loop hum from the cable, which is not uncommon. If no ca...
Potential replacement for AZ Absolute
Have you used silver before?I ask because now you seem to be off on a different track. Silver can be very good, with the right gear, but I would not categorize it as the "rich and full bodied" sound that you mentioned you were looking for in your ...
Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
"I guess audiophiles are still crazy, I've seen worse things..."Such as?  I think spending $100k on wires takes the cake. Such as a $100K TV!!!

Cartridge help: Ortofon Cadenza vs. Soundsmith Paua
Thanks for the recommendation infection, but I owned a Lyra Helikon years ago. That was enough for me to know that the bright, edgy Lyra sound is not for me. I know that many folks like the Lyra sound, so that’s why they make so many different fla...
Cartridge help: Ortofon Cadenza vs. Soundsmith Paua
My preferences are for a sound that is not overly detailed, but smooth through entire range, warmer side of neutral, wonderful midrange, and not overly dynamic, lively, detailed where listening fatigue can set in. From your description, I think...

Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
It just amazes me that these threads go on for as long as they do, resolution-free except for the claims and counters. @asvjerry , even more amazing is that there are probably two of these "dog chases tail" threads posted a month on these forum...
Are audiophiles still out of their minds?
ji35, by the same logic, if you bought a $100k ultradef 80" flat screen TV, it would be logical to spend $10k-20k on a coaxial video cable? Wait a cotton-picking minute here.....you mean they make a $100K TV???!!!Well THAT is just sick and twi...
Potential replacement for AZ Absolute
Hmmm. I have not heard the AZ Absolute copper, or the Ocellia Reference, or Fusion Audio Romance 2. I have owned AZ Satori Shotgun and Double Barrel speaker cables, and AZ Gargantua II power cord. I also currently own the Fusion Audio Magic inter...
Curious .. What is the compared price of your tt vs spkrs
My calculations were based on MSRP prices.Though I would not say that I subscribe to the Linn philosophy, I believe there is much more to a good audio system than just a pair of speakers.I believe that ALL components matter. The " a chain is only ...
Curious .. What is the compared price of your tt vs spkrs
My entire analog setup, including table/arm, cartridge and phono stage is about 100% compared to my speakers with speaker cables.
