Am I Getting Soft Here?
This phenomenon in gear always reminds of the first album is the best album experience. Years and years to create your perfect stereo and then the rushed follow up is less than stellar. Same with first albums. Trick is to always enjoy the art of i...
PSA: Short Unused Speakers and Subs in the Listening Room
Welcome back MC. The more minds, ears and opinions the better when looking for something so slippery as audio nirvana. Your expertise was surely missed.
What is the forums opinion of SVS subs?
+1 for sure on the isolation feet and plus however many on the SVS. I use SVS SB4000,SB3000 and PC2000 ULTRA with fantastic results. After 40 years of trying this combo is unmatchable in my room.
In praise of the duet.
Recently released and recorded very well is Robert Plant and Alison Krauss / Raise the Roof. Pure ear candy.
How many people do you think have the same DAC, amplifier, and speakers
My room is every bit as important to the sound as any piece of equipment I have ever owned. 15 years and counting with the same room whereas many pieces of gear have come and gone. That makes it very unlikely to be replicated by chance.
5 Dumb Things Audiophiles Believes.
Seems like a decent guy trying to share his perspective in his own way. And its free. Get the nuggets of information wherever possible.
What’s Voodoo power cords signature sounding?
We should all agree that power cords are not equalizers used to change musical characteristics, but they can definitely change subtleties in the noise floor among other things. My system and room are extremely quiet and any changes in the power su...
Anyone using 2 preamps in their rig?
I use 3 stereo amplifiers, 6 floor standers and 3 subs. One preamp controls  2 Mac MC252 amps and the second controls an Anthem STR and 3 SVS subs.. Being able to control the subs separately really works great in my situation.
Where did you buy your first audio gear?
Noticed in the thread, quite a few systems purchased overseas by vets. I would like to thank all of you for your service. Klipsch La Scalas in 1985 and I still use them today albeit modded to the hilt with Soundcraftsmen amp and preamp. Purchased ...
Placement of Components
One of the benefits of the Klipsch Heritage speaker line is that they are generally forgiving to these types of issues. Those Cornwalls will sound good whatever you do, so just enjoy the hell out of them.
Where do you want your system to go when you go?
I feel extremely blessed that all the people in my life important enough to care about, would love to get any piece of my stereo. It was important to me. It will be important to them. The equipment is just the more tangible part of our experiences...
Basic question about power/watts
It is called Headroom. Extremely important for my preferred musical experience.
OMG. What now?
Try addressing the music as you did the gear. Matching good music to your stereo and tastes can be as satisfying as the previous journey. The choices anymore are astounding.
When a budget speaker is preferred to a high end one...
Very interesting thread. My experience is that this all becomes moot when you start focusing on the quality and uniqueness of the music. After 40 years of system building I just said this is my stereo and here I stay. Mostly. The access to new and...
New here and saying HI!
Welcome to you. I for one will be interested to hear your input on gear but my main interest is in other's musical journeys. This forum can really churn out some interesting musical choices. What people listen to is far more interesting to me than...
