Bookshelf Speakers with the decent bass
You might have enough power, but the Proac's deserve a much better amplifier...
Does alcohol impair appreciation of sound?
Technically it dulls all senses, but emotionally maybe different...
budget power options
Great amps listed above, just be extra careful if you buy a 20-30 year old amp...
What are used tubes worth ?
Agree that they are not worth much as most want matched sets, but since you have no use for them, they are at least worth something. Price in part would be based on their normal life expectancy...
budget power options
Decision depends on budget, but I believe the A23 or an Odyssey Khartago would be a nice upgrade. If you like the sound other than feeling it is under-powered, no need to change the whole thing...
Is very good DAC a waste with Sonos Connect?
I have a Sonos Connect with a Parasound Zdac and am very happy with the combination. I believe the Sonos is limited beyond this unless you get the Empirical or Wyred mods...
Bookshelf speakers for $500ish
I would also wonder if a 35-40 year old receiver will bring out the best of the Totems even if it has enough power...my experience with equipment that age, even with all the dried out caps replaced, is no
dedicated preamp.
I would certainly think that the YBA preamp that is the same price as the YBA integrated, would be better as a preamp, and also retain the sound you have now...
Spotify or Pandora
Tidal sound quality is equal to CD and far superior to Spotify
Spotify or Pandora
Fortunately, you can try them all for free...
Spotify or Pandora
I had great sound running Tidal through iPod touch. I read that you cannot download from any of the three sites.

Spotify or Pandora
supposedly 1411 is what redbook CD is, contrasted to the 320 and 192 of Spotify and Pandora. Though I also enjoy both of those, I much prefer Tidal on main system.
Spotify or Pandora
Sound quality on Tidal is much better than Spotify or Pandora. Tidal offers 1411 bps for $20/month and lesser quality for less money. I read they are working with Meridian to offer HiRez later this year...
