I think it may depend on how often your friend likes to upgrade their gear. I agree that digital technology is not changing anywhere near as fast as manufacturers, retailers, and magazines would like us to believe.

I have found a double run sounds better, but is usually not cost effective, unless you get it used at a good price.

Hard to imagine many speakers at that price point are actually bi-amped. Does having the second set of terminals and then using a jumper, degrade the performance you would get from a single terminal/single cable?

Last year Nordost stopped offering internal biwire, stating it was too sonically compromised, and instead offered an increased range of jumpers for biwire.

In terms of the initial question, I have not noticed that there are less biwire speakers, but that cable companies are offering less internally biwired cables in favor of double runs or jumpers, though many cables are easy to reterminate to be int...

I used the Halide HD DAC, which has attached cables, to try Tidal on my office system. I liked it very much and just received a Sonos to connect to DAC in main system. I am not a computer person, but both were very easy to do.
