Active isolation; what can it do for music reproduction?
Also, I, too, am using a rigid Adona stand for my Herzans to good effect, resting on my tiled concrete floor.
Active isolation; what can it do for music reproduction?
@folkfreak  I heard that same removal of warmer colorations, which some might like.  To me it was a pervasive flavor overlaying all vinyl, and I welcomed its removal, as I enjoy the added musical information that is revealed. Yes, it makes my viny...
Active isolation; what can it do for music reproduction?
Very thorough background on the offerings, use, and effects.  I have used two large Herzan tables since 2010 to support my TT, DAC, and preamp. In general I would agree completely with your notes about sonic impacts.  When I added them to my syste...
Most annoying song, period.
“Rubber Ducky””My Dingaling”Both came out in the top 40 at the same time. Both suck just mightily!
Innuos Statement Review
@hehaw77  Could you please comment on the speed of the CX + EX combo running Roon?  I currently run a DX2 as both core and renderer for Roon, and I find it awfully slow in navigating. (Example: Discover can take a full minute to provide an output....
most realistic sound from a stand mount Loudspeaker active or passive
+1 on the TAD CR-1's.
< $3000 speaker recommendation for tube integrated amp?
Yep, Ref 3A speakers are special, IME.  I have owned four different models over the years, and still have a pair of the De Capo i's on hand.  Your Primaluna would like them!
Something For The Fuse Guys ...
Hmmm....  Red, Black, or Blue.  Here I was thinking the Red Pill would be the more entertaining one to go with....
Power regenerators on pre / digital - any downsides?
I like a regenerator on my pre and DAC, but it also works for my 300 watt mono amps, too.  You just need a big one!  I am using a PS Audio P20 and find it delivers very consistent musical performance in my system, and no digital hiccups during air...
Lampizator Amber - moving up the range?
I, too, have found that you get better musical realization as you move up the Lampi range.  For me it has been Big 7 >> GoldenGate >> Pacific, so I cannot comment relative to your Amber DAC.  I liked all three DAC's I have owned - - it...
< $3000 speaker recommendation for tube integrated amp?
I also used Reference 3A de Capos with my Primaluna Dialogue One integrated with very good results.  They can be had used for half your budget.  You might even find their Grand Veenas at $3k, if you are patient.  All Ref 3A speakers have nice impe...
What were some of your early Hi-End audio gear/influences?
My first musical sounding system featured Large Advents, which seems to come up a bit here.  I had them from late high school into my late 20's, when Vandersteen 2C's showed me there was clearly an even more inviting world of high end audio out th...
What Sonically is the Difference between a $1,500 CD Player and a $10K-$25K One?
I love all the folks that assure you that there can be no difference of any import.  Try some auditioning at an audio salon, and I'm pretty sure you will then know the answer.  IME you can get some very real, sonically significant and musical impr...
SS Amp suggestions
You might want to check out the PS Audio BHK 300 mono amps.  They are surprisingly good, IME, and they can likely drive your speakers fine.  They are AB, but with a higher A bias.  I used to run a Reference Line Preeminence One amp that was 100W t...
Why are there so many PS Audio BHK-mono or stereo amps for sale? What Gives?
I count 8 ads presently with either of these amps, and 5 are dealers selling new.  Doesn't seem crazy to me, as I think they've sold a lot of them.I have owned the 300 Mono's for 2½ years, and I have not thought about other amplifiers since.  They...
