klipschorns & cornwalls/ alk crossovers
Haven't been there in a long while BigJoe, but last time I was there there were plenty of folks who knew of what they spoke. Sorry to hear it may have gone downhill since then. A scenario as you describe would send me running for friendly grounds ...

Sc53 - If you like Be Good Tanyas you should also give Richard Buckner a listen. He's another Vancouver, BC based artist doing unique acoustic country-infleuenced music with great songwriting. His style defies putting him in a box, much like BGT. ...

Stereophile confirms new gear is getting worse....
I'd have to say that I'd disagree that the economy of scale necessitates higher prices. I can think of many smaller manufacturers who build outstanding products and who manage to market them at a very reasonable price (Mike Sanders, George Wright,...

Well then, I'll second "Be Good Tanyas" a pleasant surprise of recent for me as well. I check out that other album too (thanks!). On an entirely different type of music, I was recently introduced, by a good friend, to the Early Music of Jordi Sava...

Sc53 - Did you mean "The Be Good Tanyas" album called "Blue Horse"? I've never heard of "Blue Tanyas"? If it is "The Be Good Tanyas" (GREAT album...just lovely), also check out a group called "Po Girl"Marco
Musical Used DAC for $500?
Buy Timo's two-plus! That is a fair price IMO, and low if it has HDCD. No affiliation whatsoever....don't even know Timo other than previous posts. My bias is having owned a two-plus for many years. Great DAC for $500. Check out the review on Soun...
Looking for recommendations for CD player
I'd second both the Muse as well as the Jolida JD100 (even bone-stock this can be a damn great one-box player).Marco
Musical Used DAC for $500?
Muse Model 2-Plus should be right around there. Not the standard Model 2.... makes sure to get the Plus...HDCD is good if you listen to many HDCD's, but may run a bit more.Marco
Pics with ads?
No doubt about it Bigjoe, pictures sell products. You have a valid point. Those who don't make the effort may often have a more difficult time selling their product than those who do. There are some products that can sell themselves by reputation ...
Stereophile confirms new gear is getting worse....
Thanks Trelja - I'll have to page through that issue again as I couldn't find his collum in March 04. I think his writing is very personal, very amusing, and often reveals the steaming heap of cow turds for just what it is. I guess others feel qui...
klipschorns & cornwalls/ alk crossovers
If you like the sound of your amps with the Khorns they shouldn't really be night and day difference over the Cornwalls since they use the same drivers, albeit in an entirely different housing and crossover. Still, the sonic signatures in those ex...

Definitely read the Klipsch Forum's as Jwc37 suggests. You can read my comments on MY experience and opinion of the ALK on my LaScala's by reading my comments on my Virtual System. In a nutshell, I prefer the Klipsch AA's, but if you like a cleane...

Here's that thread from a while back by A'gon member "Plato" which I referred to in my previous post.Marco
Stereophile confirms new gear is getting worse....
Interesting stuff, this dialogue, both here, and the archived one on AudioAsylum which Sean points out. Personally I've never been that fond of Stereophile nor TAS for many of the reasons Trelja cites in his later Asylum post. They've been a resou...
