Fritz Carbon 7 SE MKII
I have Fritz’s Rev 7 SE so not what you’re asking about but they are great speakers and a great value. Wide, tall and deep soundstage, excellent imaging and they disappear. Very good detail and transients as well and are easy to listen to for long...
"B&W" ?
The & translates to & as an HTML encoded safe character.   The encoding prevents malicious things from happening on a server.  When it’s retrieved from a database and displayed in a browser sometimes it’s not decoded to the & chara...

Is My McIntosh C52 Pre-amp The Weak Link?
Separate DAC gives you much more flexibility.
Is My McIntosh C52 Pre-amp The Weak Link?
I was revisiting this today and thought that you could always purchase used from somewhere like The Music Room or Upscale Audio.  They have a great return policy so if you get something that doesn’t work well in your setup you can return it.  Ther...
Is My McIntosh C52 Pre-amp The Weak Link?
I agree, if it’s the DA1 you can do much better.  I have the DA1 in my MA8900.  I now use a Pontus II that is much better.  With the quality of your other components I would look at spending $5k or more on an external DAC that matches the level of...
2 Subwoofer setting
Whatever sounds best in your room with your components. Not being cheeky, you just need to work at it a bit and see what sounds good to you. Sort out the phase first, then work out crossover and then volume. I had a Sunfire True Subwoofer Super Ju...
Favorite Obscure Rock Song
I have many but one I was just listening to is Theme From Boat Weirdos by Joe Walsh.
Led Zep Fool in the Rain
Fool in the Rain is a great song.  I’ve always loved the drumming in it.  Didn’t know till not too long ago about the shuffle beat that’s in it.  Learned about it in Rosanna and Everybody Wants to Rule the World at the same time from a guy who pla...
DAC compatibility
I thought USB was a standard so it doesn’t make sense to me that either of your devices wouldn’t like the USB out/in from the other.  This link discusses drop outs from MQA but via Roon to an external DAC.  Nothing else about dropouts other than R...
Finally got a Luxman
Congratulations!  That’s a great integrated amp!  There are so many amps I’d like to try and Luxman is one of them.  By the way, I don’t think there’s such a thing as a poor man’s integrated wrt what you purchased 😀
McIntosh 2.1kw amplifier?
I'll bite...I do not have these, I have a McIntosh integrated though that I love.  I'm sure these sound amazing with the right components.
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference
@audphile1 Thanks!  It’s labor of love, I suppose, like everyone else on here.  Slowly learning about things, what I like and trying different components.
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference
@audphile1 I did get your point and I appreciate you making the distinction. In my haste to add something to the conversation I forgot that the HiFi Rose is an all in one unit and, to your point, all I did was confirm that I like one component sta...
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference
@musiclover1 Im using an Audioquest cinnamon I think. @audphile1 you make a really good point.  It’s still a valid comparison, in the sense that one combination sounds better than another, but not in the context of this discussion.  Easy with the...
