Hermes DDC + Wandla DAC
Sorry just reread your post and saw that you did cycle through the Hermes pin settings.  Can you cycle thru the Wandla pin settings?  In the video I attached above Alvin said something about some hdmi cables not working at all with the Denafrips a...
Hermes DDC + Wandla DAC
You might need to cycle through the I2S pin settings.  See if this helps: https://www.denafrips.com/config-i2s
Aurender N150 vs N200
@lalitk I would think about picking that one up myself if it was in black!
Aurender N150 vs N200
With the level of components you have I would get the N200 and upgrade the DAC to a similar level.  The Pontus II is a great DAC (I have one with a Hermes DDC) but I believe @audphile1 and @lalitk are correct about it being a bottleneck relative t...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
Most dealers are like audiophiles here with 40 amplifiers behind them and 50 dac and as much speakers experience , they know the gear , but they dont know much about the importance of acoustics ( i dont spoke about a few panels here ) and about e...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
The "dealer" would rarely tell you that...he may be all about "matching" expensive crap with other expensive crap and constantly capitalizing on the poor dude’s constant disgruntlement. @deep_333 i have a hard time believing this.  I’m sure th...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
I don’t think anyone here has stated that anything matters more than the room.  What do you do when you can’t do anything about the room or very little or there are things you can do nothing about?  Getting another room is likely not a solution fo...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
@mihorn I agree the room matters a great deal and I don't mean for this discussion to devolve into whether or not it does, just that some folks can't do a lot about fixing it.  The OP is one of those who cannot.   @calvinj My room is not optimal ...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
my listening room isn’t optimal so I have done a lot of work with everything else to get a great sound that I like. I can’t do much about my room. @calvinj i figured you were saying something like that.  Fortunately, I’ve been able to get my ro...
High End System Building. How important is the matching, cabling and room? Thoughts ?
@deep_333 i don’t know what you read but that’s not how I interpreted his last post.  Room matters a lot, if you can’t fix the room you have to work with what you have.  Getting components that play well together would probably sound better in a s...
Hifi Rose 150B vs. Auralic Altair G2.1
I’ve not owned either but I did have a HiFi Rose 250b.  I really liked the way it sounded but the interface was a bit cumbersome, at least coming from a MacBook Pro streaming from Tidal and Qobuz.  I returned it after about a week when it started ...
Which Clock
I beleive @oddiofyl is correct and only usb will use the DAC clock.  You don’t “need” the ddc but it’s nice to have and will squeeze the last bit of detail out of your source, lower noise floor and make everything sound better. I run a Hermes in f...
Streaming DAC recommendation
Aurender A200, Auralic Altair 2.1, Lumin P1, HiFi Rose 150b.  All within your price range.  I’ve owned none of them.  Had a HiFi Rose 250b that I liked though.  Lots of folks around here like the Aurender and Lumin components.  Not sure if Innuos ...
Help choosing a DAC
@shrapnel Nope having two boxes doesn’t bother me at all. They complement one another actually. I like having the better oven controlled clock in the Hermes and the I2S connection as well, it seems to help clean up the USB connection and any jitte...
Connecting a subwoofer
I think you need something like what @erik_squires recommended.  I think you have only line level inputs and not speaker level inputs.
