What are the best subwoofers you have heard for music. Speed, Musicality and integration @jafant i had a sunfire true super jr that I loved. It was such a great sub but it died on me. It got replaced by two RELs.
What are the best subwoofers you have heard for music. Speed, Musicality and integration Having two in my system that integrated very well and fairly easily, I would say using the Speakon high level connection helps tremendously. They get fed the same signal the speakers do.
HiFi satisfaction and/ or Musical enjoyment @dekay thanks for cracking the case. I can sleep at night now!
Best standmounts with a 7" woofer/driver Fritz’s speakers would fit that bill. Joseph Audio Pulsars (both versions) would as well, Harbeth, Dynaudio, and Spendor have been mentioned already. You might consider ATC as well. I’m sure you saw @grislybutter ’s list which is great. You c...
Best standmounts with a 7" woofer/driver What does high end mean to you? Is there a price point that matters? What are the measurements and specs other than the 7” woofer? What sound signature matters to you? I use Fritz speakers, which use a 7” driver, but I don’t know if you would ...
When I listen to my system....... Hopefully last response to this rabbit hole Once music is recorded/reproduced you leave the world of music and enter the world of music reproduction, which is why we gather in this forum to discuss gear, not performers/performances (unless it is...

When I listen to my system....... @inagroove there is no requirement on the definition of music that it applies only to live music. It’s music whether it’s live or recorded. I do agree that there are differences between the two. Among them being that the sound of recorded music...
LAIV Harmony @smweber2 i had a similar experience when I added a Hermes between my streaming source (MacBook pro) and my Pontus II. It made a noticeable difference in all the same areas you mentioned as well as transient response.
HiFi satisfaction and/ or Musical enjoyment Reads like a lot of projecting going on here.
HiFi satisfaction and/ or Musical enjoyment How is discussing one’s own personal journey a lecture? There’s nothing in this post that is telling others how they should think/feel about music or the system them should build.
The Museum vs. Galleries I spend most of my time with music I know relatively well, probably 75%-80% of my time. I’ve built playlists that cover so many different decades and genres that it doesn’t get old. The other 25% is spent when I get in the mood for listening to al...
HiFi satisfaction and/ or Musical enjoyment Glad you found what you need to enjoy music! I find that I do like resolving but not at the expense of being able to enjoy the music. I really like finding little Easter eggs in songs I’ve heard many times but I don’t need it to be so resolving th...
When I listen to my system....... As soon as we turn on our equipment, we are NOT listening to music - we are listening to reproductions of music on our equipment. I listen to music on my system. It’s a recording of artists playing instruments. Whether it’s a recording or li... |
