Should Speaker Manufactures provide a Frequency Response Graph? Iaoman, “In what way? Do these measurements tell me I will like what I hear?” Yes, they do tell you what you hear and estimate in room too. Each room is a bit different though so there is some variance which is mostly 200hz (not to mention s...
Should Speaker Manufactures provide a Frequency Response Graph? The full measurements that the kipples spit out are super valuable. At $100k-ish they don’t cost much for a business to own. It is a way for smaller (compared to Harman, Kef, etc) companies to do measurements and make better speakers. It is much c...

Stereophile review of the $30,000 tekton speakers Deep-333 All these guys doing technical data driven reviews have very technical backgrounds. What I have gathered from watching Erin’s channel is he is a “Rocket scientist” focused on systems testing under contract (indirect probably) as he is no...
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama There are a number of laws to protect the reviewer. Audioholics covers some of them in the video linked above. There is no libel, there is no case. It is just a way to bully the reviewers into taking down the reviews as no one wants to mess with c...
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama Tekton also threatened to sue ASR publicly in an open forum recently for a review they did. It is a long thread and can’t be bothered to paraphrase it. What I can tell you is I will personally avoid Tekton now and forever, not because of what they...
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama thecarpathian, Erin’s Audio corner has direct comments on this YouTube page community page regarding this issue. He states Tekton is questioning his test method due to not having feet on the speakers as there are holes straight through the cabine...
Thin Line Between Critique and Courtrooms: A Dialogue on the Recent Audiophile Drama Oddly the review , which I watched before it was taken down was positive. Not even sure what Tekton is complaining about. I guess he can’t handle the truth.

From B&W 804 D3 to Focal Sopra 2? He is using the 804d3, measurements of the 804d4 below (note newer model so could be different). They measure pretty lean and sounded that way to me with lots of sibilance (strong “S” sound probably due to that 5k peak). I find the entire B&W ...
From B&W 804 D3 to Focal Sopra 2? The anthem is fine and enough power for either. You are using 1-5 watts for most listening. More power will not improve the bass. Have you tried the room correction in the STR preamp? That has the potential to increase the bass. The STR also h...
Geddes multiple subwoofer method - 3 subs vice 4 It is interesting how strongly bass affects our perception of audio. Owning the JBL 4367 I more or less agree Phusis take on them but will add my thoughts as this thread is about bass. I have been using them with subs for the last year (60-65hz h...
What the Best Dac have you heard or owned. How could you tell it was that good. While I don’t use it anymore the benchmark DAC3 had impressive bass impact. I have yet to find a DAC that seemed as good in the bass. Not the best DAC ever but something special about the bass of the benchmark. |
