What cause tweeters hiss ?
When you refer to "power off", what precisely are you powering off?  The accuphase?  The denefrips?  Pls be very precise. Is there no preamp in this system? I see no mention of it. Or I missed it. What about with no input to the [preamp?  magic ...
What cause tweeters hiss ?
not a ground loop. ground loops occur at 60 Hz (or 50 Hz in most parts of the world). Not tweeter frequencies. A ground loop is essentially a "signal" caused by the difference between two different ground reference points being amplified.   Can ...
What cause tweeters hiss ?
something is not quite clear here.  If the amplifier has the volume all the way down, no sound ought to come from the inputs. It MUST be in the amplifier stage(s) following the volume control. Typically a circuit is switches --> volume --> p...
33rpm vs 45rpm - which is better
45 rpm without any debate.  The faster the record spins, the longer the groove length per unit (note, whatever) and therefore the greater the resolution.  Period. 33 rpm is simply a trade off between fidelity and long playing. Note the 33 1/3, wh...
Think Its Possible To Order Tubes From the Ukraine?
I was skeptical too. So i did some research: confirmed. Link to wikipedia But dont get too confident. The USA is #27. Maybe think about ordering from Denmark (#1). But given the fact that Ukraine has been a pawn and playground for Russia since ...
Fact or misinformation?
intact audio makes a reasonable point. I doubt most modern cart's have limited vertical compliance tho.  I think i would be more concerned with the reverse, since in the old days the grooves were cut entirely laterally (well, there was that 45 deg...

Fact or misinformation?
at the end of the day a cartridge is a compliant lever with a needle and either one or two electro-magnetic coils at the other end (or magnet moving inside a coil). Mono records only have a single direction of displacement.  Stereo have two. But...
Was my friend given misinformation.
So to the OP's question, there is likely a kernel of truth in the statement. In the mass market that he serves, that is liekly the case. I would guess that every major manufacturer has a basic line circuit, power supply design, volume/remote cirui...
Ethernet - Analog/Digital Signal Clean Up
I can only post extensive information so many times but I have explained basically where some of this comes from and what I have found works to eliminate it.  you can search and find a lot of it but fundamentally you need to terminate the digital ...
Ethernet - Analog/Digital Signal Clean Up
Basically says you have ground noise and should be using isolators and a dedicated low noise power supply on the clean side that’s kind of Kluge the way you’ve done it but it’ll Help I guess
What type of wire for dedicated 20A AC lines?
My two cents. Much of what is advocated (large diameter wire, solid copper, etc) is technically **true** but of almost zero incremental value, or, in other cases, "a given" whit US and EU code at least. I do have a 20A home run from my main panel...
Why do preamplifiers have so many capacitors?
unanswerable question without more data. But as many have mentioned, there are many solid reasons to use capacitors. If we simply accept you assertion that some preamps have a relatively large complement, the quick answer would be "because they ne...
Does remote control degrade the sound of tube preamps?
i have just spent three years researching, designing and prototyping remote control intended for volume production.  My thesis was that it could nto only be a VERy attractive feature, but superior sonically. The real answer is "it entirely depend...
Voltage regulators and input impedance
what gs5556 said. 1V/15k ohms = .00007 amps = .07mA = teensy weensy
