Check This Out! @deep_333 I take it you have heard this DAC, by the comments you made.
Calling All Tube Gurus @russ69 the only way to accurately match tubes is to match them in the circuit they are to be used in.
Why tube rectification? @atmasphere most tube equipment manufacturers don't use the correct tube rectifiers for higher power amplifier, most of the mainstream full wave tube rectifiers drop too much voltage at higher power.
Reasonably priced preamplifier The Artic audio is a good recommendation, if you want something really different try the Space tech lab preamp that uses 845 tubes.
Why tube rectification? @larryi the 300b can work for lower power equipment like a phono stage. Power tubes can be used as rectifiers, I wouldn't use them for high powered tube amps, but they can make lower power equipment sound really good.
Why tube rectification? I like unconventional rectifier tubes, such as the 3b22, 866a, 3b28, also TV damper diodes work very well. The mainstream rectifier tubes don't even come close to the tubes I've mentioned, also these tubes can be used for a full bridge rectifier, ...
Why tube rectification? @atmasphere there is no reason to have voltage sag at higher power with tube rectified equipment if the proper rectifier tubes are chosen.
Why tube rectification? @willywonka I don't know why tube equipment manufacturers don't use rectifier tubes such as the 3b22 or 3b28, I have had no problems with these rectifier tubes even if I leave them on 24/7 for months at a time, plus they can be used for high watt...
DarTzeel’s new direction @jasonbourne71 I don’t think bragging rights are why, an exotic sports car would definitely be better.
Holographic DAC With Air And Decay The OP seems to have disappeared.
Tube Amp or Tube Pre Amp What is your budget for a tube preamp or amp?
Help - is Krell dead? Krell has a new website, but I'm not sure if they are responding yet to email and phone calls.
No bass on B&W 800D2 @joey_v he's not using a Boulder amp.
300b lovers @lynn_olson how could Don Sachs have been building pp amps for decades when he first owned a tube amp in 2004?
Open baffle speakers @terraplane8bob I totally agree, I've never heard an unamplified musical instrument have tight low bass like some amplifiers and speakers produce. |
