Watts! How many do we need? I doubt those meters are able to measure actual peak power, it gets difficult to measure when a speaker is involved.
why expensive streamers Since when has man ever created something error free or perfect?
why expensive streamers Digital transmission is analog, the interpretation is digital. How can voltage or current be digital, digital does not exist in the physical world.
Unplugging power cords from amps/ pre amps Not sure lightning will be stopped by a 6mm gap in a breaker. A direct lightning strike would not be stopped by unplugging your equipment either. I have seen the aftermath of a direct lightning strike.
why expensive streamers @mikhailark the term bit perfect is incorrect, when has man ever made anything perfect. When digital audio first came out there was no mention of jitter, it was perfect sound forever, we now know that wasn’t true and audiophiles knew something di...
Tube amps under $7500 @hickamore if your speakers drop down in impedance I would seriously look into the space tech lab hybrid amps that use a 300b to drive an 845 and then mosfet output stage. I have one of space tech lab cheaper hybrid amps that drives my apogee spea...

Vacuum Tube preamp with my KRELL KAV 250a, a no no......WHY? @atmasphere there were many krell amps damaged from BAT tube preamps, they got a bad batch of Jensen capacitors. If it would have only been one amp damaged, krell wouldn't have went to the trouble of putting capacitors on the input of their amps ...
Vacuum Tube preamp with my KRELL KAV 250a, a no no......WHY? If you haven't bought a tube preamp yet, you could buy a transformer coupled tube preamp, then you would never have to worry about it. Most capacitor coupled tube preamps are fine with solid state amps. Again just remember to turn your system on i...
Vacuum Tube preamp with my KRELL KAV 250a, a no no......WHY? I’ve been using a tube preamp for several years with my krell ksa 300s, it’s just as safe as using a solid state preamp. The reason this subject always comes up is because there was a certain BAT tube preamp that leaked DC and damaged amplifiers. ...
Space Tech Lab super rectifier @tablejockey it's not just a rectifier tube swap, it's like having a separate power supply. The B+ is supplied by the super rectifier and the equipment you use it with supplies the filament voltage for the signal tubes. |
