We are buying and reviewing gear all wrong
Sure, but that's not for audiophiles. Audiophiles might ask for an advice but they want to be able to assemble their systems by themselves. Which in this dealer's reality would mostly involve moving boxes, cables and speakers. Real audiophiles are...

Designing speakers is different, more art than in designing electronics, and different arts require different talents. Gryphon also makes everything except turntables. If you like this kind of sound and have the funds - go for it. Gryphon or MBL ?...
Small drivers vs big drivers
Even if size isn't everything, without certain minimal size there is nothing. One 8" woofer with good amp in an acoustically correct mid size room can accomplish a lot, but if you really need to go down clear full and loud - no. I like as few driv...
What to do with my old equipment being replaced?
We all do it differently, I suppose. I tend to keep working old equipment and throw away not working. I don't think about whether or not I am going to use it again, but sometimes I do use it even if briefly.
Beware of the cable claiming long burn in period.
Well, cable for life might work if the life is short. You replace speakers, equipment and then might have to replace cables too. Some, however, are less equipment dependent than others but this doesn’t mean they are best in every case. Unless of c...
Vibration Isolation
I use similar things under an isolation platform my phono stage sits on, it sits on Polycrystal cones, though.Every piece of equipment I have sounds best in my system with different cones under it. Polycrystal is quite versatile.
Nottingham Interspace vs Pear Audio vs Analogue Works
I understand, you have to choose without auditioning.I've been playing original Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm for years and intend on keeping it that way. Yes, Nottingham is a very well established company and a very popular brand in some circles,...
Beware of the cable claiming long burn in period.
Purist Audio fluid cables begin opening up after about 200 hours, became acceptable near 300 hours and keep improving slightly after that I am not sure for how long, I don't have a high resolution system. After 300 hours or so wall current fluctua...

Often enough the better the cables and power cords the longer burn-in time is needed for them to reach their full potential. Some people just get it very wrong or are simply BSing around for the lack of anything better to do.
In listening to your system(s)...what is most crucial to your enjoyment?
" a good recording can make a mediocre system sound great "No way it can.
Long-Term Amp Storage Without Use: Bad Idea???
I would let them work from time to time, it's gamble, anyway.
What is your experience with the law of diminishing returns ?
Cables and power cords are components and as such they can sometimes give as much sound change as active components. However, speakers might not be good enough, so whatever you replace in the chain give about the same magnitude of change.Or, your s...

Active speakers is not a very good idea - amps don't exactly like vibration. Besides, you cannot use other amps. This is not audiophile approach. Integrated is not quite an audiophile approach either, with maybe a few very best qualify, maybe.
What is your experience with the law of diminishing returns ?
Yeah, we can try to fool ourselves and at times we can even be successful.
