Soulution 331 vs Gryphon Diablo 333
jeffreyw, I see. Not well familiar with the Soulution. Really hard to advise, anyway.
Music/Life
Neither sounds very appealing. Still, it's probably better to very slowly fade away.

Gryphon is a monster amp. What speakers are you planning to use ? Also, Gryphon's phono and dac are usually excellent, if you need them.
Mullard EL34 that sounds best
It appears that the older Mullards you go with the better, generally speaking. The price from reliable sources, if they have them, and even from unreliable ones, is very close to prohibitive. $450 for XF1 each new or $300 for used, that's what I ...
Getting a Divorce and can now buy floor standing speakers
In any case, generally speaking, $100k speakers would require near top of the line electronics, source and cables to sound their best. You would probably be looking at $250k or so new system. Do you really want to go that far ? You can assemble a ...
Warm sounding phono cartridge
Yeah. lewn, can you set up cartridge by ear only, without any tools ?
Solid state amp that tube fan can be happy with?
Dartzeel ?

Replacing a woman with speakers is a very unorthodox maneuver. Orthodox would be replacing a woman with a woman.
There Is Nothing Like the Real Thing - Our State of the Art
What the hell are you people talking about ?
Warm sounding phono cartridge
I don't know what causes this kind of sound but it shouldn't be like that for sure. I'll just mention Goldring 1042 as well because that's what I have for my Nottingham Spacedeck/Spacearm. I used to use Acoustech phono stage but now use VAC Avata...
Favorite Album Cover (picture or art on the cover)
Probably The Mahavishnu Orchestra - Inner Mounting Flame. Dark Side Of The Moon would be my second choice.
So I Just Bought a Cassette Deck
Willy Herman will only do partial overhaul if you are a new client. This might cost close to $1k and you would have to wait for a year or so. He's been servicing my deck every few years for the last 15 years. He is really good,
Have you noticed as your system improves?
I usually listen at moderate level and rarely have to touch volume control, anyway. The better your system is the lower the distortion, more so at higher volume, so I would think you would listen at higher not lower level.
If A.I. took the place of musicians, would you listen to it?
I got it. Humans are AI as well, we just don't quite realize it, so one AI will create another, same culture, nothing to worry about. Fusion still only works in a lab, barely. It's a long way until it becomes useful.

hilde45, I am a well-known "eco-fascist", as someone called me once. Let's enjoy music in all its variety and forms. Without AI and brain implants.
