Have you been enjoying your Gryphon Diablo 120 integrated ?
I really like Gryphon industrial aesthetics. But I also like vintage looking equipment, especially with vacuum tubes in it.

It's a beast. And it's got an excellent DAC, I heard.
Turntables currently considered top of the range. Do you know what they are ?
mulveling, why did you choose Clearaudio turntable ? Did you compare with other brands ? There is quite a choice at this level.
Anybody having trouble getting near-your-asking-price for used gear ? (Plz. no hype)
Well then soon there will be nothing to buy, if you are right ?
Is there usually a dramatic difference between $5k and $10k cartridges ?
Putting Ralph's # 1 at the center, how do you choose cartridge that your arm will track perfectly ? And we are talking about extremely expensive cartridges here, no margin for error unless you want to end up with BS.
Is there an 'Audiophile' Reel-to-Reel Machine for Under $1,000?
Revox in good condition will be over $1k.

mulveling, you just seem to like cartridges more than the rest of analogue front end! And I like the table more than others. It is not a mistake to think like I do - it is a different approach. And I follow it.

Another thing. If it is not stated clearly in the ad, I always first ask the seller if the price is firm or he considers offers before actually making one. 10%-15% off offers is a normal polite operating range. Of course, there are exceptions, bo...

No no no, you offer 15% less, then it will be taken more seriously. It's not just formal transaction, it's interaction.

I will also mention Technics.

Yeah, you could get a good sounding deck for $1k but it may not be good enough. That's the main reason why I don't have reel-to-reel. I saw Otari MX-5050BII-2 both on ebay and on reverb for close to $3k in seemingly good or better condition. That'...

Stratification of society, increasing income inequality, economic and political uncertainty. People with deep pockets usually buy new, with some exceptions. The rest either don't have funds at all or save and spend minimum.
Can you do anything to make power tubes last longer ?
Yes, not inexpensive. I made approximate calculations. Unless prices for NOS or near NOS tubes go much higher I will need about $40/$50 per month on tubes. This is no problem. But I need only four power tubes. Excellent NOS 12au7 tubes from a repu...
