Recommendations for 20 amp electrical outlets
What is an IG outlet? The safety equipment ground contact on the outlet is insulated, isolated, from the metal supporting back strap and the center 6/32 threaded metal hub of the outlet used to hold on the outlet wall cover plate. @jea48 Oops....
Recommendations for 20 amp electrical outlets
@immatthewj I am not recommending using an IG (Isolated Ground) outlet to feed audio equipment in a dwelling unit, house. My recommendation for the old stock Hubbell IG5362 120V 20A slender/compact style duplex outlet for the reasons given in my ...

I am glad I read the date  prior to typing out a reply to the OP.

(FYI you will not wire the IG, Isolated Ground, outlet as an IG outlet to your existing branch circuit wiring. I assume your branch circuit wiring is three wire. Hot, neutral, and EGC). EGC, Equipment Grounding Conductor. @jea48 , sorry that du...
Speakers that disappear
I always listen in the dark; I guess that probably doesn't count?
What is your "holy grail song" that you cannot find?
I'd love to get my hands on Billy Joel's live cover of Take This Job And Shove It.

I don't know whay, but I enjoy a detailed presentation.  I lucked into a slew of vintage 6SN7 pairs and I was rolling them in the balanced input sockets of my preamp, and the ones that made the biggest positive impression on me were the ones that ...
Biwiring make any sense?
How about owning biwire speaker cables but the speakers have only two terminals instead of 4?   Is the signal split and flows into the naked or unhooked up wire?  @kclone , I make no claim to have a real tight grasp on electrical theory, but i...
Is "detailed" audiophile code for too much treble?
I never interpreted the meaning of "bright" when used in the audio vernacular to be the same definition as when used it the discussion of the intensity of a light.  But I may have been wrong about that; I often am.
Is "detailed" audiophile code for too much treble?
No, detail(ed) is not synonymous with bright.  And a system can sound bright without being detailed.
Biwiring make any sense?
Bi-wiring opens your system up to more potential open circuits.  ??
Harbeth 40.3 and 40.2 Anniversary
It looks as if The Music Room is selling the 40.3s. I’ve never dealt with TMR in any way, shape or form, but from what I have read on their site when researching speakers that I was interested in is that they do allow an audition period. What I ha...
Power Amplifier - Maximum Resolution & Detail!
@audiodwebe , back in the ’90s I used to work with a guy who bought a pair of them. He described them as sounding three dimensional, but he was known for hyperbole and embellishment. I never did make it over to his place to listen to his system, b...
