Quad panel outlet - can I do one circuit on this? So no digital stuff mixing in it appears. And certainly not a TV set. So it's somewhat pure. That seems to be the main argument for having multiple dedicated circuits. In the first thread I pasted, MC doesn't subscribe to that logic. In the s...
Quad panel outlet - can I do one circuit on this? @jumia below is another thread in which I believe JEA talks about how he suggests running Romex. And deviating from his advice may have an effect on the sonic result of multiple circuits. You did mention how gear might have an effect on what I hea...
Quad panel outlet - can I do one circuit on this? @jumia , I was inclined to think along those same lines. I read the thread that I am going to paste below and that is what got me interested in experimenting with one versus three circuits. In all fairness to the multiple circuit school of thou...
A free tweak revisited @baylinor , actually I have heard that blind people have quite an acute sense of hearing . . . generally more so than people who are not blind. Or so I have heard. @jerryg123 , I guess that some common ground can almost always be found. @tony195...
patricia barber - diana krall - holly cole @tomcarr , and your grade (or grades if you have multiple pressings) of "Cafe Blue"?
Quad panel outlet - can I do one circuit on this? Until quite recently I was using three 20A circuits to fed three duplex outlets with four pieces of gear on them. I did the experiment of putting all four pieces of gear on one 20A circuit & tripped the other breakers to ,off (when I listen th...
A free tweak revisited @baylinor and @pedroeb , that's interesting. I've always said that the sky may be a different color in my world.
patricia barber - diana krall - holly cole @tomcarr , right on, man. I didn’t take anything you typed before as being negative. Not at all. You didn’t say what grade you gave the pressing(s?) of Cafe Blue? As far as Cafe Blue, I bought that back when it came out on redbook (HDCD) (which ...
A free tweak revisited My system is in a dedicated room. I never listen to it without eyes closed and seated in the sweet spot. It's never used for background listening, the other two systems are for that. I've only got one system up & running and that system h...
patricia barber - diana krall - holly cole Every one of the Krall and Barber albums I own are recorded extremely well. But then, so are every one of my Pink Floyd and Dire Straits albums. Somehow I never seem to get around to listening to any more DK or PB... @tomcarr , I am totally ...
Cables from amp to preamp or longer speaker cables… My speakers are in front of a bare wall and my gear is off to the side. Speakers are bi-wired with long runs of Kimber (I think) 6TC and 8Tc (but that was a long time ago, so I am not positive) and interconnects are 1.5 m of balanced Kimber Silver...
Why does pulling out main speakers from wall improve sound? I would think that there are probably some speakers that are more forgiving of placement than other speakers. . . .
room size question. I agree with you, but when I go, once a year or so, it’s giant speakers in giant spaces. (my point being that soundstage is not a given, we are not recreating but creating it) @grislybutter , gotcha. It’s been like over 40 years since I dropped...
room size question. if I go to a concert, I don’t hear a soundstage, most of the time I just try not to go deaf with my sensitive ears, @grislybutter , I thought you made good suggestion and points; however I would think that if you went to a small mostly acoust...
room size question. Also, it looks like you may need to move the speakers closer together since you’re not getting any soundstaging with them wide apart ... if you move them closer in small increments with no toe-in, there should come a point where they will snap in... |
