What is the voltage To bias a marantz 8b?
Adjust both output tube cathode current to 50mA and you will get 0.68V across cathode resistor.

The most critical parts when recapping
There are a bunch of tiny caps, like 10uf 50v. Worth swapping out? If you have the time and skill, replace all Electrolytic Capacitors, they 'age'! Relays on amplifier protection circuits also caused problems went they get old.
sub-woofer/speaker wiring
RCA Y connector will work.
MX132
I have a pair of MC2100 amplifiers. I recently purchased a MX132. I am having trouble connecting my amps to the Zone B out put. I can connect them to the fixed out puts but than I cant use the volume control. Can you using the gain knob on MC2...

Mixing 4ohm and 8ohm
So if I went that route I would assume all 2 channel (turntable and CD)would be powered by the stereo amp but would be controlled through my AVR? Yes. I'm upgrading my home theater front speakers, which will be used for 2 channel music as we...
Mixing 4ohm and 8ohm
the new fronts I’m looking at are Legacy Classic HD’s or Signature SE’s which are both 4ohm. (Love the Signature SE’s by the way) any suggestions on a pair of 8ohm speakers for around that 6000.00 price range? OR you can use a stereo power amp or...
Wiring question : amp-sub-speakers
Or use a high pass filter in series with your main speakers to roll off low bass at 12 dB/oct. https://www.parts-express.com/100-hz-high-pass-8-ohm-crossover--266-462
Wiring question : amp-sub-speakers
As mijostyn suggested, add a 300uF capacitor in series with your main speakers to roll off low bass at 6 dB/oct. https://www.parts-express.com/300uf-100v-electrolytic-non-polarized-crossover-capacitor--027-371
Just Curious - About using a AV Receiver as main unit
The different from top of the line AVR than average AVR is the power supply, for example, Marantz SR-14 all five channel @1kHz measured continuous output power: 8 ohm 139.4 W 138.6 W 138.6 W 138.6 W 139.4 W 4 ohm 205.9 W 205.9 W 201.6 W 208.8 W ...
Just Curious - About using a AV Receiver as main unit
If you can find an old high quality AVR with multi channel analog input for cheap, pair it with miniDSP, you can build a 2/3 way active system for not much money.
Just Curious - About using a AV Receiver as main unit
I don’t think AVRs are all that bad. +1 Marantz SR-14 and SR-18 are my favorite, you can use it as power amp just remove the jumpers.
