Upscale Audio is up front with customers
But as far as Kevin being a "friend in the business" and "upfront"? Hah! Only as far as it doesn’t impede profits.  My comment related to the video in the OP -- I assume you watched it. It is him directly telling customers about tariffs and the...
Is the "improvement" real or imnagined?
If you perceive that it sounds better then it does. If you perceive a straight stick is bent in water (because it looks bent), it is actually bent in water? Um, no -- appearance and reality are different things. The way I would phrase your id...
Is the "improvement" real or imnagined?
I did extensive measuring with REW at the listening position. Changes close to the microphone (i.e., near where my ears would be) sometimes had a significant impact on frequency response and reflections.  So, it depends, but you could be hearing ...
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?
I didn't "close the thread."  I gave my opinion that the thread seems exhausted -- it is going around in circles, Mahgister style. Just my opinion, but of course all one has to do is look at your posts here and in many other places to see you say...
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?
Seems like this thread has become a bit exhausted. At least for me.
New Magico Speaker Break-in Question
@bubba12   I'm surprised to hear your thoughts on the Salks. I have Song 3 and it's one of the pieces of gear I would never sell. Perfect clarity but not fatiguing to me. Different tweeter though. That's because it was the tweeter, not the Sal...
New Magico Speaker Break-in Question
I had Salk speakers with this problem and did everything to try to figure this out. In the end: nope, not even absorption could help. I also recall the Be tweeters in the Focal 926 were pesky, too.  Magico is a great company but I wonder if they'...
I'm curious. What is your "normal" listening volume?
81-88 db
Help needed to make system better, please
Be nice to see a room measurement to know whether you need more diffusion. Your equipment sounds very nice.
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?
All matter when we create an audio system , even cables... But nothing compare to acoustic analog control... Agreed, and the honest makers of good gear will say this. Interesting discussion here with a leader at Benchmark regarding what makes ...
Some people actively participate but rarely if ever start a thread.
Most of my questions can be answered via the search function. Bless you. There's so much here already. I've argued it should be organized into some kind of archive but that won't make any money... I've found that threads I've started that ask...
The Insane World of High End Audio! Is it All a Scam?
It seems nothing will change... Like a bull blind by rage seeing a red cap and going against it... My point was not driving people against or for one any reviewer... my point was that the "scamming" process in audio result from our own ignorance ...
Vinyl sounds better (shots fired)
For those who think it sounds better -- better enough to prefer it over streaming most of the time? Some of the time? Curious to hear the degree to which vinyl displaces other media.
a rant
Well, the thing about a hobby is generally they are active.  You can't just sit still if it's going to be a hobby...thus the need to churn equipment even if one already loves the sound.  This is a good point. Hobbies are active. But what do YO...
Room Treatment
@lalitk It's hard to get clear on this for a lot of folks. If you go to Acoustimac's website, it aligns "acoustic panel" with absorption. If you go to GIK, the first things displayed are diffusers but they also have absorption on the page. Viz. h...
