no Direct TV DVR without phone line? I have been using one for about 2 years without a phone line connected to it. No problems.
Are tiny subwoofers worthwhile? The REL Q-108 is a great small sub.
Blu-Ray Sony for Redbook CD Other then being very slow to load, I haven't had any problems with mine. And the sound with redbook isn't too bad. I prefer it to the Oppo 981 that I was using before it.
Tyler/Salk sensible alternatives to Gallos? I have never heard a pair of Salk's, but have listened to a couple different pairs of Tyler's. And I would take my Gallo's over them any day. I listen to mostly classic rock, and some jazz. Never had a problem with the height of the sound stage at...
Gallo Ref 3.1 or PMC GB1/FR1 I have never listen to any PMC's, but I did just pick up a new pair of the Gallo's. And I can see myself keeping these for a long time. The more I listen, the better I like them. At first, I didn't notice any of that foot tapping experience either...
Bought the new Oppo DVD981HD player... I had a 981. The picture quality was some of the best I have seen. And the sound of movies was fine. But with 2 channel music, it wasn't all that hot. Even my new Sony blu-ray does 2 channel better. Didn't use the Oppo for music, I have a dedicate...
Breaking: Paramount/Dreamworks go HDDVD exclusive Go check out the latest news on the format war on engadgethd.com Seems blu-ray is already fighting back.
Oppo DV980H Audio Quality It was the 981 I had. Didn't know they had a new one. But I still didn't think the audio wasn't anything special at all. The video is some of the best I have seen, but the audio was about the same as an old Onkyo dvd changer I have. And it still l...
Oppo DV980H Audio Quality I just sold mine. Bought a Blue Ray player. The Oppo 980 is a great video player, but nothing special with audio. My old Toshiba SD-9200 was so much better. Not even close. Even the new Sony blue ray sounds much better to me. The Oppo sounded like...
REL with Integrated Amp connection Question The best way to hook it up is with the high level inputs. And you don't need thick heavy cable to do that. I have the 108 with my Krell 400xi, and the high level is the way to go by far.
Do high level sub inputs really sound better? I have always preferred the high level myself. I am currently using a couple REL subs, and that is what they recommend. You are getting the exact same signal at the exact same time as your speakers. Now if you are using this in a HT set up, I woul...
What's wrong with my new LCD? If you are watching a standard def picture it will look like that. How is it with a high def signal. Or a dvd.
Pathos Integrateds I have compared the Logos to the Classic MKII. And while I liked the Logos very much, I preferred the Classic. Maybe you can try using a pair of Classics if you need the power. Have heard they are great paired up.
Should I switch from Jolida JD100 to Rega Apollo I think it is a step up. Didn't own both at the same time. But from what I remember of the Jolida, it is a nice improvement going to the Apollo.
What were they thinking about?? Hey Nsgarch With the dry winters in Arizona I get a lot of static too. Have you ever tried spraying Static Guard on the floor in front of your system. The fumes are bad for about an hour, but it works great. |
