Speakers that can reveal orchestral instruments' positions
I think omnidirectional speakers generally have very large soundspaces but may be a bit less detailed in their 3d. Try to see if you like this or a more focused 3d from a conventional speaker.I heard the Bacch SP processor at an audio show. It alt...
High Sensitivity Speakers
A fun alternative that I haven't heard and that may have to be online ordered. Maybe you can find similar models from other brands?https://youtu.be/eAgq87JWCcw
High Sensitivity Speakers
Do they have JBL?Seems to be popular and easy to drive. I have only heard a smaller pair and long time ago the great JBL K2.https://youtu.be/N24qY7KYRnA
Separates or Integrated? What makes more sense?
Seems like there has been a lot of work on new integrated amps and they are now much better than 10 or 20 years ago. One I heard at an audio show that was really good was Absolare.I have mainly seen plus sides of separates described in this thread...
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium
I have not heard Raidho but think Borresen should be similar. Maybe better.
Speaker recommendations 10 to 30k and no beryllium
MBL for holographic. Stenheim. Borresen. Maybe Verity Lakme. I have not heard Magico S, only their smallest standmounts and the big M6 which were spectacular for a spectacular price.

Regarding Raidho I would look at Borresen also since they have the former Raidho designer. Still as expensive though, this price range only includes their standmounts.

MBL 120 might work great for you. They have a fantastic soundstage.DeVore Orangutang and Vivid has been mentioned already and I agree that they are great. Borresen 01 might work if you can accept standmounts. Two names I haven't seen that I think a...
Friend needs advice for $8,000 system
I would look for an integrated amp with dac, like Hegel h190.
Higher End DACs
Just to have some other options, you could try the Bacch SP and see if you like it. It actually changes the sound to get a better stereo image. I attended a demo and it is a bit like magic. The Bacch SP ADIO has a dac and you can of course turn of...
Preamp w/DAC (or Integrated w/DAC) vs. Outboard/External DAC? (Again! Forgive me!)
Just having visited a small audio show I can say that built-in dacs and streamers are becoming the norm for mid-fi. I would not worry too much over future resell value. The noice your friend is talking about is probably not noticable in this price ...
MSB vs dCS Bartok
I was just at an audio show. Many rooms used dCS players but mostly Vivaldi and it sounded great.Another contender that I heard and have heard before is the Kalista Dreamplay Stream. It sounds wonderful.http://www.kalista.audio/en/collections/drea...
Comparison of latest DAC chips
I don't think the chip is that important. A lot of things around the chip affects the sound and if those part are not done correctly you won't get good sound anyway. At some price point the brands tend to start using special chips or technologies ...
Which is the most important part of a stereo system?
Hegel H190 should also work. I have only heard the H590 but that was good.I did hear Arcam SA30 which is also an amp  with streaming (roon endpoint).
Is there a such too much power for speakers?
If you like VTL then their suggestions are probably very suitable for you. Go with the S-400 if you can afford it (it looked like the S-400 ref II costs about $33k).I don't think you should worry too much about having too much power but on the oth...
