To all that has a Theta Miles CD player
BTW-it’s. Not on every burned CD, but does miss the first note on every CD occasionally. This is something new. In the past, it played all CDs perfectly.
To all that has a Theta Miles CD player
I’ve realized, through some comments of Miles owners, I may have a laser reader going bad. About every other song it misses the first note. Lately I noticed, on a burned CD, it starts sounding scratchy like a worn LP might sound. I can turn my it ...
Difference Between DAC Types
For years, I thought I had a problem with my Casablanca III. Sometimes my CD’s would not play the first word or note of a song. I auditioned the DEXQ unit and was surprised to learn it wasn’t my dac, but my CD player. I have a Kora Hermès II and w...

@millercarbon: You may be right about my hearing.  I'm 65 years young and know I can't hear anything over 12K.  My interconnects are not top of the line, but am using Verastarr phono interconnects and Transparent music link supers as xlr cables.  ...
Is DEQX a game changer?
@miee: I think you will find your dbx unit very accommodating.  It's done wonders for my sub integration.  It's abilities to control time delay, parametric as well as graphic eq is very good.  You can control the "Q" on your mains,, gain, subharmo...
Is DEQX a game changer?
I tried the Premate Plus, but didn’t get the results I expected. My speakers have a single input, so that restricted me from hearing it’s full potential and I wasn’t prompted to get individual speaker readings, during my on line session. It did a ...

Tinnitus
@Mental/@lowrider:Thanks fellows.  Yes-I did see the Mayo Clinic info.  Don't think it's Menier's disease.  I'm not dizzy and it's in both ears.  On a scale of one to ten, guess it's about a 3-4.  If you've ever been around a gun shot or firework ...
To all that has a Theta Miles CD player
Thanks to all who have replied.  I've had this problem for years, but only with certain DAC's-probably should have mentioned that.  I'm not sure why 2 out of 3 DAC's revealed the problem, but the other did not.  When I first discovered the problem...
Is DEQX a game changer?
@almarg :I'm not sure why he didn't want to take the time, to fully set up my Premate, but it definitely had a bearing on the outcome.Steve
Is DEQX a game changer?
@Almarg:Before my session with Larry, I was asked to put my speakers on castors, so we could take individual sound readings of each speaker placed in the middle of the room.  Didn’t happen,  Just took a reading of the listening position, with each...
Is DEQX a game changer?
DEQX turns out to be a no goI returned the deqx premate plus today.  It sounded good, but didn't improve my over all sound that much.  Because I use two monoblocks, there was no alignment of time, concerning the different drivers, but it did do a ...
Is DEQX a game changer?
@almarg Thanks Al.  I have several panels like that mounted to my walls and under my TT platform.  I also have some home made ASC tubes I considered using, placing two on each side, forming a triangular effect.  I will have to raise them about a f...
Is DEQX a game changer?
@Almarg:Al:  I should be receiving my Premate Plus, within the next week or so.  I think I remember you said you built a small 'booth", around your calibration mic, when doing your calibration.  Do you think this was a benefit and would it be wort...
Who’s a good alternative to MCM electronics supply
Thanks for thanks for all the suggestions. Sorry I was so vague.  Over the years I’ve purchased mainly wire, cables, adaptors, rheostats, wallplates etc. I also purchased a fairly good S-Curve EQ, that I’m giving my son this weekend. MCM had a goo...
