Theta Miles CD player
Since my last post(?),I replaced the optics and am running the Theta as a transport only, going into a Kora Hermes II. Sounds wonderful
How do you share the sweet spot?
I had a friend come over a few years ago and he knows nothing about good sound, let alone the sweet spot.  The only sweet spot he’s familiar with is with a woman.  We were sitting on a three cushion sofa-he at one end, me on the other with a cushi...
No "Room Correction" Topic option. Why?
One can split a 220VAC line and both are already on the same side of the buss, however if you have two high current monoblocks, the ground or “common” will not be able to carry the amperage that one will need for each amp.  If you have a stereo am...
What do you sit on?
+1 for cal91
I'm here for the enthusiasts, not the snobbery
Maybe it’s the virus, although personal attacks had been on the rise before the Covid 19 outbreak.  Social distancing has led to the decline of being social.@Erik-I think you would have been better, not to have mentioned motorized vehicles.  I’m s...
To all that has a Theta Miles CD player
@ejonbil:Yes. I found a new optics component on line, however having never installed one before, I stripped the main gear. Found a gear at Hi Tech Repair in Nashville and was given a few pointers on how to properly install it. Works like new. It’s...
Should people with no turntable or reel to reel be considered audiophiles?
+1 for Lewm.
Cool it!
I have central A/C, but you deal with what you have.  I keep my class A biased amps off, then then turn them on about 30 minutes to an hour, before I listen. I mean totally off with the power switch on the back.  I have an upstairs dedicated sound...
Need speaker cable
I am using 12 gauge solid copper core cables.and really enjoying them.  They're only 3' long, so that may come into play, as they are connected to two monoblocks very close to the speakers.Equipment used on backend:  Krell EV 600 monoblocks and Wi...
Cool it!
I’ll have to say I enjoy reading almost everyone’s point of view.  There are some that insist on creating a war of words.  This is aggravating. I too have posted too many crazy contributions, after having adult beverages. At times I will ask quest...
Need speaker cable
@sudhari:Im hoping you will get back to me, concerning your upgrade on speaker cables.  I’m not a member of the exotic speaker cable club.
Upgrade to Maggi 3.7i or Tekton Moab?
+1 for Mapman: @Trebuchet:  I had a nice pair of Martin Logan Monoliths and even with the cone woofer, I didn’t get that slam I wanted even using class A biased amps.  I would love to have a pair of Maggie’s for a different sound, when desired tho...
Cool it!
@tomavodka:It’s very normal for Krell amps and most class A biased amps to become very warm-some even hot to the touch.  Be sure not to impede the air flow around them,  thus no stacking other components on top, or placing them inside cabinets etc...
What to buy?
Somehow, you need to change the dimensions of your room. Having a square room, you’re already starting wrong from the gate.
I can prove your room is bad
I have umteen acoustical panels and bass traps, but until I bought a DBX Rackdrive 360, I could never get the bass balanced the way it should be. Sounds great now. BTW I have two JL Fathom 113’sHaving said that, I have said many times-you need to ...
