Should people with no turntable or reel to reel be considered audiophiles? +1 for Lewm.
Cool it! I have central A/C, but you deal with what you have. I keep my class A biased amps off, then then turn them on about 30 minutes to an hour, before I listen. I mean totally off with the power switch on the back. I have an upstairs dedicated sound...
Need speaker cable I am using 12 gauge solid copper core cables.and really enjoying them. They're only 3' long, so that may come into play, as they are connected to two monoblocks very close to the speakers.Equipment used on backend: Krell EV 600 monoblocks and Wi...
Cool it! I’ll have to say I enjoy reading almost everyone’s point of view. There are some that insist on creating a war of words. This is aggravating. I too have posted too many crazy contributions, after having adult beverages. At times I will ask quest...
Need speaker cable @sudhari:Im hoping you will get back to me, concerning your upgrade on speaker cables. I’m not a member of the exotic speaker cable club.
Upgrade to Maggi 3.7i or Tekton Moab? +1 for Mapman: @Trebuchet: I had a nice pair of Martin Logan Monoliths and even with the cone woofer, I didn’t get that slam I wanted even using class A biased amps. I would love to have a pair of Maggie’s for a different sound, when desired tho...
Cool it! @tomavodka:It’s very normal for Krell amps and most class A biased amps to become very warm-some even hot to the touch. Be sure not to impede the air flow around them, thus no stacking other components on top, or placing them inside cabinets etc...
What to buy? Somehow, you need to change the dimensions of your room. Having a square room, you’re already starting wrong from the gate.
I can prove your room is bad I have umteen acoustical panels and bass traps, but until I bought a DBX Rackdrive 360, I could never get the bass balanced the way it should be. Sounds great now. BTW I have two JL Fathom 113’sHaving said that, I have said many times-you need to ...
Need speaker cable @suhari:Please let me know how your premium cables compare to your standard 12 gauge wire. BTW-is your 12 gauge stranded, or solid core?Steve
Demo'ing Class A amps, Appreciation Suggestions from those who recently been there I’ve owned three class A biased amps and will never go back to anything but class A. I had a couple of Krell KMA160’s several years ago. They were good, butIhadsomeMartinLogan Monoliths and they just didn’t have the power I needed. From there I wen...
Analogue question @Wazoo: Just guessing, but as someone suggested, it maybe your interconnects not making good contact. Burnish the plugs and jacks slightly.
Tube Dac ? @sabrejet:I have a Kora Hermès II tube dac and I love the smooth warm sound. I retrieved it from my storage room about a year ago and bought some stock12ax7’s, just to hear it again. What a delight. Next stop- Andy’s Vintage Tubes. One issue you n...
Dedicated 20 amp circuit - Electrician laughed! I have three dedicated lines in my sound room. I’m running two Krell EV 600 monoblocks. Each has its own 20 amp circuit, with hospital grade outlets and 10 gauge wire. I’ve never tripped the breakers, but am more cautious with my hearing than I u...
