Wilson Speakers & Reviewers
Crazyeddy:  Part # is MP821-5.80-1%  $14.95 each + shipping.  Not a huge savings, but still...
Wilson Speakers & Reviewers
Crazyeddy  I spoke with a rep and explained what I was doing. He too said he couldn't sell me the same resistor package as provided to Wilson, but was able to sell me individual resistors, with short leads. They came in a hard plastic holder all l...
Disappointed w/ Klipsch Heresy III. Now what?
Brioklynluke:  Horn speakers by design, tend to be very bright. I own a set of Khorns as well as Cornwalls. At one time, I installed a rheostat on my midrange horns on my Khorns, to turn the midrange down. It worked well. I guess a good EQ, could ...
Wilson Speakers & Reviewers
Crazyeddy:  I get my from Caddock. They will sell u the same resistors, in value, but u have to solder longer leads on. The first replacement set I bought from Wilson were around $60. The last set I priced, thru my dealer were around $160+. You ar...
Bill Legall-MillerSound speaker driver repair
Bretmcee:  I would first say Bill says in his website, to call-not email. I have spoken with him many times and he did a great job on my Wilson woofer. He gave me a price, but upon examining the driver, called me to inform me the repair was simple...

Crazyeddy:  Where do you purchase your resistors?
Why are my woofers pumping?
IMHO, you need a filter, or (cough), an eq to filter out anything below 15 hz. Some of it could be acoustical feedback.  I thinks it’s much more simple, than a mismatch or incorrect setup of tone arm/equipment.
Wilson Speakers & Reviewers
Crazyeddy:  Yes-I’ve replaced my crossovers numerous times, until I learned not to shut off anything, “upwind”, of my amps first.  You know - power amps off first etc.  I also learned that all resistors are not necessarily blown.  I have been able...
Wilson Speakers & Reviewers
Crazyeddy:  It’s true, they were a pita to set them up out of the crates, but my dealer put them together.  I have had them spiked, but put them back on their casters, so I can easily reposition them, as I’m constantly experimenting with their pla...
Wilson Speakers & Reviewers
I bought a set of Maxx II's from my dealer, that were demos. Couldn't afford them otherwise. I have a couple of Krell EV 600's pushing them. I've had them around 6 years and have loved every minute. They're not hard to set up. You want them towed ...
Phono Preamps with "balls" ?
Avanti1960:  I have an Aesthetix Calypso I love.  I did have it upgraded  to a Signature, but looking back, I think I would have just done the tube upgrade.  It sounds much better, having been upgraded-just sayin. This preamp is very versatile.  I...
What position is your balance control set at and why?
Blueranger: As said above, all LPs or CDs are not mastered the same. It’s very common for me to have to adjust my preamps balance, with the playing of a different CD or LP.  I used to think I had a circuit problem. As far as your clip light goes a...
I have question about frequency response and power issues
I agree with stereo5. Ive blown many sets of crossovers on my speakers, but have both read and heard, particularly from Jerron at Wilson, it's not too much power that blows most drivers, it's power that's full of distortion. Even turning off a pre...
Are We Different?
This may sound crazy, but when I hear certain chord progressions, they move me. Unfortunately, I have become caught up in the equipment game, always seeking a way to make those chords sound even better. Lately, aside from room tuning, which is jus...
Should I eliminate my preamp?
Elf1: "Most" balanced outputs almost always double the output voltage.  This is a good thing. Eliminating your preamp, if the preamp is in good internal condition, will sometimes make the final sound leaner and thinner. I would invest in a compara...
