Pre and Amp suggestions for B&W Nautilus 804?
I second (third) the Krell suggestions. I added the new Krell integrated to my system and got a huge improvement. I have the CDM9's, which, to my ears are similar, but maybe not quite as nice, as your speakers. The Krell improved the sound in my s...
cd player and integrated amplifier for the B&W 9NT

cd player and integrated amplifier for the B&W 9NT
Howdy, I mated my CDM9's to the new Krell integrated, KAV-400xi. Simply phenomenal. The CDM9's dissapointed me for close to a year before I got this amp. It lacked bass response and the soundstage would literally collapse at higher volumes. Plus t...
Is the Ortofon Kontrapunkt A compatible with MMF-7
Well, let's hear what they are. I've only heard a couple of TT's in my day. The most expensive one being the MMF9 hooked up to a bunch of Krell electronics and a pair of B&W 802's ($50k system). My experience is limited here. I want to hear wh...
Maintenance on Hafler DH200 & DH101
I found the Pooge booklet. See below. It costs about 17 bucks mail order.http://www.audioxpress.com/bksprods/books/bkaa25.htm
Is the Ortofon Kontrapunkt A compatible with MMF-7
Ok, everyone has their own opinions. Here's a challange to the two posters above who disparaged this TT, put your money where your mouth is. Define, in your terms, why this TT is "crap". What TT's in your opinions are better, why and for how much ...
Is the Ortofon Kontrapunkt A compatible with MMF-7
Dkarmeli, how can you say that? The MMF7 stock comes with a Goldring Eroica, a $400 cartridge. Don't diss the table. It's a fine unit, hardly a basic TT. Not the best of the best, certainly, but pretty good.
Maintenance on Hafler DH200 & DH101
I had a DH200 for over 20 years in my main system. It's pretty good unit. I never did a thing to it as far as maintenance goes. It worked flawlessly for the entire time I had it. It produces a lot of clean power to your speakers. I never thought i...
Replacing the stock jumpers on my B&W's
I decided to go with Stanwal's suggestion for the mapleshade jumbers. 23 bucks delivered for pure copper ribbons. Too cheap to pass up.
Speakers to compare to Paradigm Studio 100 V.3
I'll second what Timo suggested. The PSB's sound phenomenal. I didn't buy these only because of the low WAF regarding their looks. Big, black boxes. They sounded better than the CDM9's I ended up with for the same money. The Paradigm's are nice to...
Replacing the stock jumpers on my B&W's
I may be totally wrong but....The gap in the stock jumpers measure 5/16". So I was probably incorrect earlier (I posted this from work). I recall trying spades that were 3/8", and they didn't fit. Hmm... Now I'm confused. I can't use the wire hole...
Nora Jones new CD -- Copy Protection -- YIKES
Question. Is this 'bonus track' available to those of us who listen to this CD in a real CD player? Or just the computer listeners. I do very little computer CD listening.
B&K ST-140 - Older vs. Newer versions?
Marchomm, I picked up the ST2140 a year ago last fall to replace on old Hafler DH200. I only paid 450 bucks for it brand new. The salesman recommended 40 hours of burn in, so I played it 24/7 for a week. I didn't want to rush to judgement on this ...
B&K amp
I agree with Flemke. My experiences w/ B&K components have been dissapointing.
What steps forward were actually steps backward?
Buying cheap components as stop gap measures and also to placate the wife have lead to unsatisfactory music reproduction. Too many artifacts in the music presentation just prevented me from enjoying the music, as that is what it is really about. S...
