Regarding supertweeters
will it not be very difficult to calibrate the two tweeters to eachother so the frequenses dont "crash"? As you correctly note it is VERY difficult to correctly align the two drivers. Eldartford hints as to why this is so (a fraction of an inch &a...
Air 1 compared to SPM interconnects?
The change to a "laid back" usually means that you're losing energy between the components. Either that the new cables create a bad (hi resistance) connection (are the connectors dirty, bad quality??), or that they are higher capacitance & res...
Regarding supertweeters
Hifimannen, in order for the supertweet to contribute (musical) supersonic sound this content (sound) must be on the storage medium in the first place. It rarely is, as Eldartford notes.Further, no cdp plays over 20k. What is there is often spurio...
Categorizing records
My case is near identical to Rushton above. The only sad difference is, the d-base is NOT well updated and, so, I have to rely on (failing) memory as well as the incomplete palm when buying records! There's a good difference, too: I have more than ...
speaker excursion..."mo power"..and bass..Sean
I do realize that this (very low power amps -high efficiency spkrs) normally sacrifices some of the very low bassAs you note, "normally". You can add active subwoofs for very little outlay and resolve the issue (if issue there is).
Is "warm" a compliment or a criticism?
While Jeffreybehr makes a valid point regarding a possible hump in the FR between 100-300Hz (that could be even "lumpy" for some people) or alternatively a notch in the 2-6kHz region, IME the term "warm" is usually used in a positive vein: the sou...
Anyone familiar with the Manger driver?
Larryi the Mangers are 8" (they do look small). But yr comments still apply!
What about a product can irritate you?
Tvad: I'm with you. Inversely, switches placed in the front can be left "on" 24/7 too. Cheers
Treatment for rubber speaker surrounds?
Some drive units use treated paper, too. Nsgarch, I assume you don't recommend using tap water (or is this immaterial)? Cheers

Which spkrs do you want to biamp? More importantly, does the manufacturer provide for active (or passive line-level) biamping? If so, you'll need a second stereo amp.
Best subwoofer for 2 channel Hi End system
IMO, you'd be well advised to determine HOW to do it well & IF it's worth doing it. The "best" subwoof can be chosen based on the above. At that (excellent) level of spkr you'll prefer a stereo (i.e. two subwoofs). BUT as your spkr officially s...
Treatment for rubber speaker surrounds?
NON silicon would, in fact, be better.Audiobugged: the product would be the "Impedance Enhancer": enhance your spkrs drivers' coupling to the surrounding air...(blurb)... at only 199,99 (1 oz) with special "applicator" brush. The special propertie...

Apart from being differently boxed (as you note) they're NOT supposed to be identical circuits, either. They have a site that talks about that.As to what differences you'll hear -- in simplistic terms, the JC1 simply sound better in all respects.....
Which of These Budget SS Preamps?
Above all, he wants outstanding top-end extension, transparency, outstanding detail, speed, focus, and great bassI would add, "tonal accuracy". Hardly asking for much, is it:)?The type of sound described really fits a handful of top-end active pre...
What about a product can irritate you?
Power switches on the back are, purportedly, so the component is left on all the time... there's also some macho marketing involved methinks. The switch in front wouldn't bother the "on all the time" scheme now, would it:)
