5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tubes A rectifier tube that only lasts 2 months is defective. When speaking with Andy of Vintage Tube Service these should last for years.
5AR4/GZ34 Rectifier Tubes I have some Sylvania 6SN7 GTB brown base mid 1950's coming for my player. I will report out on the sound relative to the Sophia's when I get them. From what I understand, the earlier the tube, the more "chrome" there is in the bottle. If you look ...
Which High Res releases are worth buying? Vhiner, what really gets me is there is a real opportunity to drawn in a whole new generation of listeners to support the music industry and for that matter the audio hardware folks. They have only been exposed to poor compressed MP3 music. I don'...
Which High Res releases are worth buying? I kind of struggle with the pricing of High Res downloads. If it is new material the engineer selects the bit rate and sample rate with two clicks of the mouse. The only difference is more storage space for the recording vs. standard 16-bit/44.1kH...

Any bad experience with wilson audio sasha w/p? I have listened to the Sasha and Sasha II a few times and just can't warm up to these speakers. If find the treble too hot or grating with unwanted sibilance on vocals. The bass while extended doesn't seem realistic. Just my two cents.
Is it speakers or my rock/metal music? Plus help ? I would agree with the above poster in that you need to trust your ears. The first thing I would do is make sure your room is "right". It will need acoustic treatment from base traps on up to make sure there isn't a room issue. If you are doing su...
new speakers for studio? Salon 2, Wilson.... I have heard the Focal Twin6 BE with dual Sub6 subwoofers in my brothers studio and was very impressed. The amount of detail with the beryllium tweeters and top to bottom coherency was really special. They might be worth checking out.
Cleaning melted plastic from MC275 chrome surface Moonshot, I will approach this from a different angle. There is a product called "Road Rub" that is used when boot soles melt onto chrome motorcycle pipes. Part of my nylon chin strap got on my hot pipes and left a melted black spot. I was able to...
Speaker Upgrade Journey - Wilson, B&W, Linn Good comments so far. I agree with Gianttube and I have built my current system around used equipment. It's sometimes a little more difficult with specific models that may not be available on the used market. The Vivid and Crescendo's are also in ...
MAGICO Q1 vs dc10 Berlin SM If you are a dealer you should disclose that up front especially if you provide an opinion on a product you carry that you think is superior to a product that you don't carry. Otherwise your "opinion" is just B/S and self promotion. |
