Any bad experience with wilson audio sasha w/p?
I have listened to the Sasha and Sasha II a few times and just can't warm up to these speakers. If find the treble too hot or grating with unwanted sibilance on vocals. The bass while extended doesn't seem realistic. Just my two cents.
Is it speakers or my rock/metal music? Plus help ?
I would agree with the above poster in that you need to trust your ears. The first thing I would do is make sure your room is "right". It will need acoustic treatment from base traps on up to make sure there isn't a room issue. If you are doing su...
new speakers for studio? Salon 2, Wilson....
I have heard the Focal Twin6 BE with dual Sub6 subwoofers in my brothers studio and was very impressed. The amount of detail with the beryllium tweeters and top to bottom coherency was really special. They might be worth checking out.
Cleaning melted plastic from MC275 chrome surface
Moonshot, I will approach this from a different angle. There is a product called "Road Rub" that is used when boot soles melt onto chrome motorcycle pipes. Part of my nylon chin strap got on my hot pipes and left a melted black spot. I was able to...
Speaker Upgrade Journey - Wilson, B&W, Linn
Good comments so far. I agree with Gianttube and I have built my current system around used equipment. It's sometimes a little more difficult with specific models that may not be available on the used market. The Vivid and Crescendo's are also in ...
MAGICO Q1 vs dc10 Berlin SM
If you are a dealer you should disclose that up front especially if you provide an opinion on a product you carry that you think is superior to a product that you don't carry. Otherwise your "opinion" is just B/S and self promotion.
Good value for money speaker cables around $200
Gbb, I already had the Satori's in the system and was looking for something "better".
Good value for money speaker cables around $200
Gbb, I have done a comparison of the clear day double shotgun with my Acoustic Zen Satori cables. I thought they were very, very similar to Acoustic Zen cables and I could easily use them in place of the Satori's. I don't think you could go wrong ...
Onkyo 805 receiver no sound - any clues?
Well I ordred a Denon AVR-X2000. The good part is that at least it has a three year warranty and it will only be used for TV and movies. I have a dedicated two channel system for music.
Onkyo 805 receiver no sound - any clues?
I went ahead and spent a few bucks to troubleshoot the problem with receiver. Turns out the audio / video board is bad. The repair was north of $300 so I am now going to buy a new AVR. My current candiate is the Denon AVR-X2000 which I can get for...
Poor man's Rockport Atrias?
Thoooe, good luck on your quest! If you do find a speaker that gives you 90% of the Atria at $10k let me know since I'm also very interested in the Atria. At that price point and below there are a lot of offerings. I like the idea of supporting a ...
Poor man's Rockport Atrias?
Tboooe did the dealer have anything else that sounded similar? Since the Atria is a new model it's really hard to even find any reviews. At least you got a chance to listen to them. They are on my short list to audition but I will need to travel t...
Onkyo 805 receiver no sound - any clues?
Tgrisham, thanks for the note. I have been in the troubleshooting mode for the last couple of days had have come to the conclusion that it may be a power supply or something similar. Now the question is do I want to dump money into repairs or star...
Mag editors and interviewers could do better
I would like to see different equipment reviewed. How may reviews do we really need for Magico or Wilson. The advertising drives the reviews and the truth is hard to find. I do like the reviews from Jeff Fritz of ultra soundstage and the reviews f...
Redbook CD Is Not Dead
I would agree that redbook is not dead. It will be viable until a universal high-resolution (DSD) solution is found. The hardware, user interface and software (available titles) will all need to be in place for the average public (not just audioph...
