Building a stereo room and ran into some problems, help!
la10slgr, If your room is an actual room inside a room you wouldn’t need any channels on the walls. If you can leave an air gap between the existing wall and the newly framed inner room, that would be ideal. The actual build up from the outside wa...
Tekton Double Impacts
I tried the giant gliders on my floor standers but I liked the sound better when spiking through the carpet to the floor.  The bass was tighter with spikes...go figure.
Building a stereo room and ran into some problems, help!
la10slgr, the channel material attaches to the ceiling joists and the sheet rock attaches to the channel.  This in essence "floats" the ceiling.  If you search the DIY studio sites it's discussed.  It's also important to stagger your second layer ...

WHAT HAS WORKED FOR YOU? ISOLATION PLATFORMS, FOOTERS, ETC. for a DAC?

Lifters ForGetting Cables Off The Floor, Worth It Or Snake Oil
I made about 13 cable lifters for about $15.  I used some clear 1 x 3 boards cut into 4 inch sections.  Three are used for each lifter and I held then in place with  2 GRK 1 1/2 inch panel screws that have a built in washer.  These are similar to ...
Glare on Choral recordings, classical vocals
A lot of good suggestions.  Do the cheap stuff first like using headphones.  Is there still a problem.  Can you try some other speakers even some monitor types to see if the distortion is still present.  Not all choral music would have this issue....
Attn Vinyl lovers - what CD Player do you use?
I use the Modwright modified Marantz player. I like the modifications and performance Dan can get.
Speaker Cable Suggestions
There is always a lot of opinions on speaker cable. Lately in our audio club we have had some members experimenting with different cables including Clear Day, Grover, Western Electric 16ga, Acoustic Zen and many other brands.  A couple of us are u...

Ethical Help from the AudiogoN Community
My two cents are in line with Greg.  Selling "damaged" used gear is really difficult if you want to get top used gear prices so I would replace the tweeter.
