my rant on new single disc players under $500 Here's a company that makes stepped attenuators Endler attenuators. This way you can make adjustments easier.
my rant on new single disc players under $500 A used QUAD 99 CDP runs about $500. You'll have to be patient and wait for one to pop up though. Personally I feel the digital volume controls in most CD players isn't up to par when sound over convenience matters most.
Paradisea dac with Monarchy upsampler? Yes this combo will work, I have used it. No problems at all. The receiver chip in the Paradisea will accept up to 24bit/96khz. I prefer running 24/48 into the DAC..just a fuller sound without that highend grunge. If using a single disc player. Yes...

Promitheus TVC preamp Nice review Skyboy!! We use similar gear. I agree there's no turning bak now. In fact I find that now I have no interest in upgrading any more. Thanks to Nick...I'm finally off the merry go round..at least for the next couple of years! ;-)I notice...
Help with PC Audio Quality vs. CD I definitely prefer the PC to the cd player. I downloaded some HD music from Music Giant tonight. Man I haven't heard a CD that has the clarity, depth and dynamics of what I'm getting from these uncompressed recordings...simply amazing!!
Help with PC Audio Quality vs. CD Ben I'll let you know what I think of the Trends unit when it arrives..hopefully this week. Right now I'm using a optical out directly to the Dac. I also use Foobar, SRC and the ASIO with Kernal Streaming . The sound is terrific now..it has me won...
linbrook signature owners I haven't heard this model. I can tell you from looking at the linbrook it uses the same drivers as the model I've heard. This speaker sounds nothing like Paradigm...I mean nothing. The Seas magnesium drivers do have a certain sound. A friend and ...
Monitors Suggestions for my setup If you want warmer sounding. The Soliliquy 5.0 should get you there.Even the Sonus Faber wil give you a warmer sound..these speakers will add their own colour to the music. You may like this though. The Tylers sound puts me in mind of Thiels to so...
Monitors Suggestions for my setup I would go with a speaker that you can grow with. The Tylers are such a speaker. I'm sure down the road you'll want to experiment with other amplifiers,sources..etc. These speakers will give you plenty of room to grow. Don't limit your speaker's q...
Monitors Suggestions for my setup Have you considered the Taylo Reference monitors by Tyler acoustics? These are very revealing speakers. Cool sounding with very good micro and macro dynamics. After you hear them you may want to trade in the Paradigms. The Europas are a nice choice...

Review: Bent Audio Tap Linestage Thanks for the info Teajay. What ever he does or S&B does..the sound is darn good with the Bent's! If it weren't for already owning two TVCs I would be lusting after the Bent.;-)Chances are.. I'm done buying preamps for a looong time. Although...
Review: Bent Audio Tap Linestage Teajay..I remember seeing one of the reviews you pointed out. I gather from my own experience, the differences this reviewer heard or thought he heard, had more to do with the actual gain of the TVC than anything else. Those are the differences I h... |
